[#14798] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Gingers, See this double-bobbin, parallel-wound power supply transformer! It may be even better than original LEAK TL12.1 power supply transformer! :) ![]()

[#14801] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user It may be even better than original LEAK TL12.1 power supply transformer! ---------------------------------------- Richard Did you try this power transformer in your original Leak TL/12 Point One :) Very good sound at your place, both Tannoy & LS3/5A. The Black & 27M contributed a lot :-) ![]()

[#14802] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Leak fans WATCH out :-) I guess the black 12.1 launched before the 27M :-) Richard told me that the 27M had been under research for several years, absolute not 27 Months, may be a treble 27 months :) John ![]()

[#14805] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user M9, In the BBC version LEAK TL12.1: 1) It uses a input transformer in BBC to mate with BBC's studio equipments. The input transformer is usually bypassed in home use; and 2) it has a attenuator (a volume control), which can remain and is useful in home use. Other than the above, BBC version TL12.1 is exactly the same as home versions TL12.1. ![]()

[#14806] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user The model number shown under the transformers of the BBC version are different :-) Any difference??

[#14807] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user The photo reminds me... One more difference: In the BBC vesion, it uses a 4-pin input socket, which is wired for single-end input. The 4-pin is usually replaced by a RCA socket for home use. ![]()

[#14808] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user The common power transformer of 12.1 is TL/12/T2/2. Any difference between the one in KY's 12.1. It is a TL/12/T3/D :-) ------------------------------------------ Gingers, As KY pointed out - "T2" refers to the output transformer, and "T3" refers to the power transformer. So, the output transformers: TL/12/T2/2 - found in the most common version (you and me and other R33 brothers have one pair of this version) TL/12/T2/1B - found in BBC version (KY's unit) "1B" belongs to T2/1 and so the the tap-out for 16 ohm load should be so connected accordingly; wiring is very different from T2/2 (the most common type). So, the power transformers are: TL/12/T3 - found in the most common version (you and me and other R33 brothers have one pair of this version) TL/12/T3/D - found in BBC version (KY's unit) And.. finally, the choke, which is numbered, "L1" - In this regard, your admired website, http://werple.net.au/~kiewavly/transformers.html has a (typing) error that mentions "T1" as the choke, but in fact the ID should be "L1". Besides, the website lacks the data regarding the TL/25A which M6 and you each have one pair and I have the measured impedance data which I may forward to the website if the webmaster wants to have. :) -------------------------------------- Just check this post by R on 06-01-05 09:32

[#14809] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user As the model numbers of the tranformers are different between common version and BBC version 12.1, I wonder they are 100% the same apart from the model numbers.
