| [#15459] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user ECC82, E82CC, 12AU7, 12AU7WA, 6189, 5814, 5963, 6067, 6680, ECC802(S), 7316, 7730, B329, B749, CV4003, M8136, 7801 The ECC82/12AU7 is available in many different versions: ECC82/12AU7(A), ECC82 and 12AU7 are exactly the same, 12AU7 is the USA name and ECC82 is the name used in Europe. The 12AU7A is the same as 12AU7/ECC82, but in contrary of the 12AU7 also can be used in series heater application, because of controlled heat-up cathode. The 12AU7WA and E82CC are the special quality long life versions of the 12AU7 and ECC82. The CV491 and B329 are the old military English types. These tubes are very strong, good sounding and made to last a long lifetime. The 5814(A), 6189, 6067, CV4003 and M8136 are military special quality versions of the ECC82. These types are made for longer life and lower microphonics. Sometimes they were made with three mica plates, or extra supports inside the tubes. 5963 is a computer grade 12AU7. This tube has a cathode especially made to withstand long times in cut-off mode. The maximum anode voltage is slightly lower than the 12AU7/ECC82 (250V against 330V). 6680 is the mobile communications type of the 12AU7/ECC82. This tubes is made to withstand about 20% variation of the heating supply without any degradation of specs. ECC802(S) is the premium version of the European ECC82. These tubes were made and tested for low microphonics and low noise. The "S"-version is specially selected for low noise. 7730 is the premium instrument grade tube made only by CBS/Hytron. This tube has heavily plated gold pins. 7316 and ECC186. The 7316 is the Amperex premium version of the 12AU7. It is equivalent to the European ECC186, and electrically identical to the ECC82, except for the maximum cathode to heater voltage which is 90 volts for the 7316 and 180 volts for the ECC82. Many people like the sound of the 7316 / ECC186 very much. The 13D8 has exactly the same data as the ECC82. It therefore seems to be an English equivalent to the ECC82. I can't however find any literature on it... Great tube and very rare. |
