| [#15981] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user In the last few years, I have tried a few modern valve pre amps with my vintage Leak Stereo 20, 60 and 12.1, most of these modern pre amps hiss too much through the highly sensitive Leak power amps. The only pre amp I am happy with is a DIY passive pre using just a Alps 50K pot or recently a Creek OBH22 passive pre. These passive pre amps don't give any hiss and a larger range of the volume control can be used. The little Creek OBH22 is a gem, it has remote volume and source control. I can connect a tuner, CD player and a phono stage to it with arm chair comfort. I am giving up with a proper valve pre for now. Hon  |
