Kern lens color is quite special. Sometimes feel it better than Leica....just for my own taste..

t's interesting to see you using C-Mount cine lens in your Nikon system. I've done the same as well for macro photography. I am not familiar with Kern as I am using KINOPTIK APO.

Kern 75mm f2.8 only has 3 len elements, still its centre resolution sharpness is still very good but the outer-rim is not. Yes, the color is rich because it is designed for taking cinema film. I had this and the 150mm previous and all sold. The money I got after selling these 2 lens was for buying the Angenieux lens (I got four in Exakta mount as it is cheaper than in M42 mount), 28mm, 35mm, 135mm, 180mm and I love their performance, natural color, smooth texture but with good sharpness, easy to use (only use adapter for Canon EOS - that's why my first DSLR is Canon 300D, now it can mount to my OM E-series DSLR). I have one genuine Exakta-to-Minolta MC/MD adapter (manufactured by Minolta) which I can mount all the Exakta mount lens to it and then further mounted it to MC/MD-to-OM 4/3 AF confirmed adapter. It works and can focus to infinity. Now I have to get one more Minolta to OM 4/3 AF confirmed adapter from eBay to test these Angenieux lens using OM E DSLR! ^.^

This one Angenieux 180mm f4.5 mounted on Canon 300D

＞centre resolution sharpness is still very good but the outer-rim is not.

Should be perfect for 4/3 system since only the center part of the image is captured by the sensor.

I still hold some Kern C lens (small one with focal length only 36mm) which can't be sold with 75mm & 150mm and one Angenieux cine zoom lens which now can be modified to use in M4/3 format. Time to consider buying a Panasonic G-1......... if I have spare money. ＞...＜
