| [#16512] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user KLIAV 2007 Hi Gregory, Of course Gregory, KL International AV Show 2007 staged from 27th- 29th July was at JW Marriotts Hotel at the central shopping district. LS3/5A Club Malaysia was given a room free of charge by the organiser on 7th foor (room 733). It was with your tremendous helps (not forgetting Andrew for his volunteer in helping too)that Rogers gold tag arrived safe and unscared due to your fabulous packaging. I was using my system similar to my previous years except that I used my recent acquired Leak TL12 Plus amplifiers instead of my Quads. The sound of Rogers gold tag driven by TL2+ is amazingly likable as compared to 11ohm versions that I was using on previous shows. The sound was a bit more bassy by comparison which is due to speaker placement and I just have too littled time in making further adjustment. So I left it as it was as it is only mildly over and not severe in any case. I did tried using my Quad II but the bass became worse. One thing very encouraging I discovered in this year's show was the number of visitors specifically come for LS3/5A show, it has increased a few folds this year! And I was equally surprised to discovered the number of young enthusiasts, some college goers many whom I met in the past shows, now own LS3/5A! Now I understand why the second hand market for LS3/5A is going up and supply falling short in the used market. Overall, it was another successful show. And this year is specifically on 15ohm LS3/5A. Thanks a lot for making the hum disappeared. Though my ears are not sensitive enough, the hum did annoy me :-) I hate the sound which should not be heard from the music source, i.e. the "dik dat" sound from the LP :-) John  |

His 11A was restored by a high hand from Germany :-) He was the first one claimed that my Leak TL/25A lost to 11A. Though I do not agree, I will not surprise to see some will agree with Alan in the future:-) At his request, I took out a quad of extended base el34, i.e. Tall Feet Seven el34 to fire :-) Hope to compare with his 11A side by side at his earliest convenience :-)  |

Partridge transformers were too expensive for Mr. Leak to afford?? Partridge' sales did not please Mr. Leak?? Haddon transformers were better? Mr. Leak cut the cost, gave up Partridge? We can compare 11A with different brandnames of transformer BUT we have no chance ...............................all 12.1 came with Haddon transformers :-) |
