| [#16531] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user (Quote from LEAK forum in Yahoo) For Attention of John aka Gingers Hi John I noted your post regarding Partridge Transformers and Leak over on review33 . As far as I know the following may well apply ~ I would like to know WHY Partridge lost its BIG customer Mr. LEAK. ( Leak were a relatively Volume/Sales driven company in comparison with companies such as Audiomaster , Lowther etc etc and from what I have been lead to believe from several sources ~ including two ex Leak employees of my acquaintance that Leak either couldn't or wouldn't pay for the Top quality Transformers from Partridge in order to keep Volume production and Profit margins High !) Partridge transformers were too expensive for Mr. Leak to afford?? (See above) Partridge' sales did not please Mr. Leak?? ( Unknown ) Haddon transformers were better? ( From my own listening experiences together with those of other Audio friends that have first hand experience of both Variants of Audiomaster 11A I would say that the whilst the Haddon OPT is a Very fine unit ~ However the Partridge 4000 series Transformer version delivers a little more appreciable weight/texture and detail to the audio signal~ However your Haddon 11A's are superb amplifiers and I would not get hung up on the relatively small difference !) Mr. Leak cut the cost, gave up Partridge? ( If you mean Profit margin considerations between buying in Volume Haddon or Partridge OPT then again answer above ) Best Wishes Roger --------------------------- It is now time to sell the "Hadden" version and search for the "Partridge" version of the AM 11A's! | [#16533] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Hi Roger Thanks for your reply :-) My 11A came with Haddon. Their serial numbers were 1449 & 1229. I notice the serial number of a 11A with black colour Partridge was 16XX. In this case I think Audiomaster gave up Haddon and picked up Partridge in its later product. May I know the serial numbers of your 11A? Perhaps, Audiomaster offered two options for its customers to choose, i.e. Haddon or Partridge. Great to have a side by side comparison later. BTW, may I know whether you are in Hong Kong? I would like to learn more from you regarding the Audiomaster. However, I have no burden at all even she might not turn out talented in 10 years or so (about the present age of Tongli?). I appreciate all talented people and I never insisted to play Wing Yee before you, didn't I? |
