| [#1695] What are you listening to? ( classical mus It was very late at night when I listened to music last night, and I hope my neightbour won't be disturbed, so I listened to some noctune. This time I listened to Noctune by John Field, he was probably the first composer to write extensively base on the format of Noctune, and the music he wrote was very lovely indeed. Compared with Chopin, John Field's Noctune was more classical but every bit as tuneful as Chopin. This Naxos CD was the only version of Noctune I have, Benjamin Friths' playing was sensitive and lyrical, a real bargain for those who want something different from Chopin.  |

( classical mus 邊個邊個, In order to ensure that my collection keep expanding, I will explore base on composer and music instead of performer, and I will not buy more than two versions of each piece performed by different artist unless it is a very important piece of music. Listened to different performers played a piece of music is like various way of eating a apple, you may cut it in pieces, chew it, squeeze it into apple juice. But apple is a apple, you want a different taste, you have to take other fruit. |

I must confess I’ve been more concerned with the sound quality than the performance side of recordings. That passion alone in fact prompted me into the bewildering world of music years ago. Classical Music, however, does take up 85% of my collection now and as such, I take pride to consider myself a Classical Fan, though on a rather rudimentary level. Hence, it would be my pleasure to meet you gentlemen high at the echelon, with just one purpose in mind – to learn from you and hopefully to gain more insight to enrich my listening.
