" Don't know about the 800/801, but first hand experience with using DP55V direct and most feedback from the web as well as Accuphase's own recommendation say that it is better to use a preamp. The volume control in Accuphase players are straight forward digital domain volume controls. You lose resolution as you lower the volume. I also find the sound to be thinner without a preamp. |
