( classical music) Bruckner: Symphony No.9 Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR Gunter Wand Profil PH04058 (CD) 1979年的現場錄音，在Ottobeuren的大教堂錄製。同一教堂產生過另一隻Bruckner名盤，Jochum與Concertgebouw Orchestra現場的第五（Philips）。從這錄音聽到，只要音樂一直推進，這教堂迴音不會將音樂變得模糊，但當音樂稍停，就能聽到迴音。 與Wand晚年的Bruckner相比，這次演出火熱，不單音樂有很重的動力，連造句都有很大的不同。平時其他指揮（包括晚年的Wand）會分成幾口氣的片段，在Wand的手中常一氣呵成，可能正因如此，才有流動及前進的感覺。速度以外，演契也是非常熱情，在氣氛上Wand這堣ㄦ|有太大的build up，高潮要來就來。近二十年已經很少這麼果敢的Bruckner，雖然你或者較喜歡內斂的Bruckner。  |

Rhapsodie Espagnole, Tannhauser Overture Jorge Bolet (piano) RCA 09026-63748-2 (CD) 我也搞不清楚，這張碟是錄得好還是奏得好。這碟在七十年代錄製，比Decca的Bolet李斯特系列早十年。因種種原因，這錄音在這堣~第一次出版。 這CD沒有奏鳴曲，選曲熱門冷門俱備。最有特色是La Campanella，速度偏慢，優優雅雅，絕不神經質，小冊子說，彈得慢使trill更突出，一開耳界。Rhapsodie Espagnole即La Folia變奏曲，開頭及中段的音階平均而不留痕跡。Tannhauser Overture是Bolet錄完音，正要離開錄音室時，一時技癢彈的。如果一時技癢就那麼技驚四座，準備充足還得了？不過，一時技癢才沒有壓力。 令我最滿意還是錄音，高音清脆不刺耳，距離適中，有足夠聚焦，就不會overtone滿瀉。還是Bolet彈得好呢？以我聽過他在Decca的錄音，火氣減輕了不少。如果再有Bolet其他RCA錄音就好了。  |

( classical music) George 1977, Speaking of Bolet, May I draw your attention to his issue on Great Pianists of the 20th century, it was a live recording of his Carnige Hall performance. He simply sedated the audience with his dreamy pianist in Chopin Prelude, a moment later he than brought the house down with his Liszt Paraphase of Tannhäuser, the disc was filled with other transcription and encore piece following the romantic piano tradition. My momory of his live concert goes back to the eighties when he suffered from sudden lapse of memory loss for a few minutes during his playing of ?Chopin Sonata, a sign of senility. |

( classical music) 皇帝版本...好奇怪，Richter 沒有記錄？＞ 貝多芬的五首鋼琴協奏曲中，Richter 沒有彈過第五首（「皇帝」），也沒有染指過第二和第四首。在他所彈過的兩首中，以第一鋼琴協奏曲較多好錄音。 Richter 彈過的貝多芬作品甚多，然而明顯的遺漏也不少，其犖犖大者如鋼琴協奏曲五缺三，小提琴奏鳴曲十缺三（包括 Kreutzer），鋼琴奏鳴曲三十二缺十（包括 Moonlight），都叫人不能無憾。 為甚麼 Richter 從來不彈某些作品，我們當然不能指望他一一交代，此人太狷介桀驁了，看來他連向自己交代也不屑為之。 然而，他不彈「皇帝」的原因，我們是知道的。原來他自述早年聽過老師 Neuhaus 彈蕭邦的第一和貝多芬的第五後，深覺驚異不可思議，從此不敢彈奏這兩首協奏曲。到了七十年代末，他聽了老師的兒子彈奏老師當年這兩首首本樂曲，還是感受彌深。Richter 說過自己其實很喜歡貝多芬的第四和第五協奏曲，只是愛聽不愛彈。 蕭邦的兩首鋼琴協奏曲，Richter 不彈第一首，真是可惜。令我更失望的是 Waltzes 他彈得太少了（相比起來 Ballades 和 Scherzi 都無遺漏）；還有的是，作品編號二十八的二十四首 Preludes 他有八首就是不碰，奈何！ 談到 24 Preludes, op. 28，近日聽了 Rudolf Serkin 在 1976 年的錄音，只覺風力婄}，丹彩彌潤，想不到七十多歲的大師有此一手。這兒有人聽過 Serkin 的蕭邦嗎？  |

His Tannoy makes me eye-opened! so beautiful! ----------------------- Morning! Happy to see that you classic music lovers had a great start of gathering. I would like to add, from my very limited knowledage about CKM's Tannoy, that it was made with love of a father for his beloved child. The original Tannoy Lancester cabinets were discarded and replaced by re-designed cabinets that do not have any sharp corners to hurt any walk-learning child. How thoughtful a father CKM is! Bravo! :) |

Listen to the 1st movement last nite, played by Chales Munch and Berlin Radio. Orch, great sound and great playing. This piece will test the limit of your hi-fi system. |

( classical music) Szymanowski不單是二十世紀第一位偉大的波蘭作曲家，他的第一小提琴協奏曲，我認為是二十世紀小提琴協奏曲五大之一。可惜現在的年輕小提琴家，拉來拉去（或錄來錄去）都是那幾首協奏曲，不去碰這些作品。 第一協奏曲長二十多分鐘，採單樂章，但可輕易拆開幾部分。小提琴主要是單音的lyrical奏法，而最精彩卻是管弦樂部分，配器綺麗，直頭可當成交響曲來聽。就算是單樂章，但有很多重現的主題，方向非常明確。第二協奏曲的獨奏部分難了不少，很多時候都用複音，有如史特拉汶斯基的小提琴協奏曲，音樂則更重民族味窗A有點像fiddle音樂。 Nocturne and Taratella本為小提琴與鋼琴二重奏，這堨悝@曲家的好友Fitelberg配成管弦樂，但沒有小提琴獨奏。夜曲即時令人聯想到Debussy的 Iberia，這首音樂的確有西班牙風情。我認為Fitelberg這個改編是一首好聽兼有效的管弦曲，但是否反映Szymanowski自己的管弦色彩，我就不敢肯定。因為Szymanowski並不是一個要用盡所有樂器，及將高中低音都平均填滿的配器者。  |

( classical music) Villa-Lobos: Bachianas Brasileiras (Complete) Rosana Lamosa (soprano) Jose Feghali (piano) Nashville Symphony Orchestra Kenneth Schermerhorn Naxos 8.557460-62 (3 CD) Villa-Lobos的巴西風巴哈組曲，除了這個版本以外，還有兩個全集，都是EMI出品。先是作曲家親自指揮，但錄音欠佳，而且是包含其他作品的八隻碟套裝，另外有Enrique Batiz在八十年代的數碼版本，但很難找。 最出名的是第五首，八支大提琴與女高音的詠嘆調。Villa-Lobos在這套組曲想做的，是揉合巴西風格與巴哈曲式，質重旋律是最大特色。於是，旋律好不好，就影響了聽的心情。第五首的詠嘆調，就是旋律優美，是不是「巴西風格」或「巴哈曲式」，相信很少人理會。 這九首組曲，我覺得較好聽的是第一、二、四及七，尤以第四的前奏曲最得我心。所以又是與「新曲指數」有關的問題。這些樂曲不屬前衛樂曲的領域，是第二類：有調性有旋律，但不及經典般一聽難忘，要不要留一隻在家呢？我不是說你一定不會喜歡，但你未必會想聽第二次，若你純粹抱@「不想來來去去聽那些」的心態，一試無妨，尤其是Naxos的價錢，還可以在Naxos網站入會（要年費）任聽Naxos錄音。 Naxos沒有聘請 exclusive 的錄音師，多數請最近錄音場所的freelance，所以錄音質素不穩。這套錄音就是屬於不好之列，落得太多迴音了，尤其是這是模倣巴哈對位音樂的作品，聲音模糊就大打折扣。所以我認為這個曲目，暫時未有參考版本。  |
