Hi Simcity,

In this week, i test those tube in my Ref 3
1. Winged C-6550C (original from ARC)
2. Sylvania 6550
3. Jadis 6550A

Sylvania is my first choice, more detail, smooth and very good sound space. second choice is winged C-6550C, fast and good dynamic. If your speaker is not enough bass, Jadis 6550A is good choice.

Hi brother pl96, I cannot try this anymore since I have sold my Ref3 sometime ago:) But I'm interested to know the differences since the 6550 tube is the key component of the power supply circuit of the ref3.

Currently I have not play the TT because of waiting for some tune up or resetting of the arm, usually LP12 issue la.

Sometime I prefer to just put in a CD and forget all things. haha

Once you've got the basic knowledge, it's pretty user friendly. But the original factory setting can be affected easily by Temperature, humidity and vibration. So it's better to recalibrate all the figures first before usage.

Hi Ken, you are right:)

Of course, you can utilise this leveller for setting up the speaker alignment too. And particularly useful for those with a bevelled top surface like mine.

And it can be used to measure individual axis too....

Let's have a closer look.

1. LPs with different thickness for adjusting the VTA
2. Instruction manual in case you don't have a clue.
3. Digital leveller, with 0.003 degree accuracy.
4. Digital scale for cartridge VTF setting.
5. Tonearm's alignment tool.
6. Dr. Feickert's protractor for setting spindle pivot length.
7. Template for setting Cartridge overhang, offset and checking turntable's speed.
8. light torch.
9. bubble leveller.
10.Laser automatic leveller.
11.and lastly 益力多! This is probably the most important of all :)
