Have you done a statistic and what ground did you base on to say "a lot of audiophiles shift to magico instead of wilson speakers."?? and the association of Mahler music with Wilson speakers?? People purchased Wilson Speakers do not just listen to Mahler Symphonies as the main reason, what you quoted above simply do not make any sense at all. Please based on fact and not assumption in your quotation. I know one conductor who owned a pair of Wilson speakers as his sound reference, but who cares what he listens to every night? It simply does not make sense that a speaker designer would tune the speaker design with respect to Mahler Symphonies. It is a pure coincident that I listened to a complete Mahler Symphonies cycle on a pair of Wilson speakers this weekend and this is the first time I ever done that with Wilson speakers and I quite enjoyed it for a change from jazz and pop music. Magico and Wilson speakers have different sound and depends on which speakers suit your most but I would not say which brand & model are better until I make a decision to make a purchase. If I have a choice to buy a pair of speakers tomorrow, I will choose Wilson, but I won't do that yet. I am not saying Magico is no good but it happens this weekend I like Wilson better. ************************************************** May I ask what brand and model loud speakers do you own and use all the time? |

I listen to music and music played through a pair of Wilson and certainly never consider whether it is using your so called 2nd rated Focal. On the other hand a 2nd rated Focal (or say cheaper Focal used by Wilson as you said) may in fact make music sound better playing Mahler Symphonies than the 1st rated Focal, again, I have no idea what is 1st and 2nd rated Focal. I said that before and I say it here again, I have not made up my mind which brand and model of speakers I like better, may be a Magico tomorrow instead of a Wilson, but who knows? So you should start a new thread with a theme 'Why CPU8088 Hates Wilson speakers', only if you dare to do so. |
