| [#1] 最蠢的CAS 以為佢好聲D，一心貪佢可以用iPhone做remote方便D，點知原來搞左部最蠢的CAS組合：Mac Mini + itunes + Amarra！ 第一蠢：iTunes + Amarra播音樂窒到冇朋友，唔好話播high res窒，播44.1k都窒，根本冇可能正常聽歌。用同一部Mac Mini，裝Windows 7 + Foobar + Wasapi，順到無輪，講聲仲靚過iTunes + Amarra組合添。 第二蠢：用Mac Mini轉CD，遇上某些copy protected CD，iTune不旦認唔到，連彈番隻碟出黎都唔得，部機又冇手動彈碟的小孔，我而家部機就係咁，試勻坊間秘技，隻碟都係彈唔番出黎，睇黎等開市搵Apple先搞得掂，到時一定小到Apple上天花板！ 講到最蠢，都係自己，畀咁貴去上一課電腦課！ |

Mr. the mouse, I understand your frustration regarding your system, even myself will be upset when things are not working right. Before you wrote on such topic, if you are customer of the mentioned products, you should have our contacts in many forms. MSN messenger, email, phone number (even mobiles), web blog and facebook. I suggest you contact with us to help solving your case. Weiss + Mac + Amarra + iTunes have over thousand of setup working daily and proven to be one of the best solutions if not THE best one. I wish when we have chance to assist your case, you will feel the same. Since you started this thread here, I wish you provide some comments. Your first problem and your second problem shows one similar idea, your MAC partition is having either software (OS) /hardware problem. IF you have a problematic computer or Mac OS install, your problems are not related to Amarra or Weiss. Your mac mini is simply broken. I agree at this point that something can be done further in order to avoid such problem. We have already started provide service bundle on a pre-installed MAC Mini / Macbook pro so that customer will have a set of working system. We have no extra charge on the computer hardware/softwares. We also installed free softwares such as Max and teach our end users how to change different formats (e.g. after they purchased FLAC from HDtrack.com, they can convert them to AIFF and import to iTunes, Album Artwork widget is another freeware). We have provided a very detail step by step online guild line on the software setting: http://www.asiaweiss.com/main/?p=738 We have also updated the DAC2/Minerva review to include some update to date driver capability: http://www.asiaweiss.com/main/?p=474 It is correct that you do not require Amarra in order to have Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch as remote. There is simply free app called REMOTE to work as control service. Amarra can be controlled by a software called Rowmote (US$4.99), which gives extra benefits on Amarra fader, EQ and other setting. | [#13] 最蠢的CAS hi kent，我唔係想搗亂你檔攤，我部解碼同amarra都係同你買，但我發生的情況的確令人灰心！ 關於partition、不同os的問題，我想指出，itunes + amarra播放問題早於一開始就出現，全新mac mini沒有裝配windows，除amarra及weiss firewire driver外，亦冇裝其他software，部mac mini純粹用作播放音樂用，上網及其他事宜，我會用另一部電腦。當我發現用同一部mac mini上使用windows7 + foobar + wasapi，同樣使用weiss dac2，卻沒有問題，所以我認為我的mac mini沒有問題。 至於彈不出碟問題，在網上均有廣泛討論，這是apple的問題！ 作為消費者，我選擇mac + itunes + amarra，一心諗住方便少煩惱，結果卻強差人意！ 彈碟問題我會找apple解決，但播放問題，請問有何決方案呢？ 最後修改時間: 2010-02-16 11:51:07 |

I completely understand your concern and all I wanted to say if you have problem, you can contact us directly so that we can help to solve your case. If you bought the products from us, there is no other better way than ask us to solve your problem. There are more than thousand of similar setting which is working, although there are some unsolved cases which need to beware of (for example when switch on iTunes / Amarra, it is better to switch on Amarra and let it wake up the iTunes) When I said your mac is having problem, I do not mean just on hardware disc eject, but also the OS itself. It is quite common that Mac people reinstall the whole OS petition on new machine and not using the pre-installed OS for a reason. The Disc Utility is another way to show if there is permission problem (and repair) under Applications -＞ Utilities -＞ First Aid -＞ Repair Disc Permissions. You can also insert your bootup disc which comes with your mac mini, press option and restart the computer, you can then boot the Mac with the DVD Rom. Before you selected to install the new OS, there is a Disk Utility on the top menu that allow you to "Repair Disk". You can always reinstall the whole iTunes. Latest version is 9.0.3(15) download from Apple website:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ You can software update your Mac on the top left, click on the Apple icon 2nd column. I think we should debug your problem source is from the Amarra, iTunes, Mac OS, firewire cable and of course the Weiss. The Weiss is hardly broken, after selling hundreds of units, there is so far just 1 unit that needed to repair (happened right before CNY). The cause of that particular unit, is the user inverse plug in the 6 pin firewire cable and burnt the firewire input chipset. Your setup is actually what we recommended, because it will be easy to find out problem compare to so many PC hardware settings when using Windows. From sound quality wise, Daniel Weiss, the designer of the DAC has put a lot of attention to make it very easy to customer to max the computer playback quality. He thinks the firewire and software do not affect the quality of the playback, as soon as the playback is data identical. Again I am sorry that this problem happen on your system and provide you problem. Please contact us and let us solve your problems for you. | [#20] 最蠢的CAS how do you connect ur nas to the mini? this may be the root of the problem. i have been using mac for years and never encounter the problem u ve. there are 2 ways for ejecting disc: 1. use disk utility: application-＞utilities-＞disk utility. u should be able to see ur cd on the left hand column but with the name and icon shaded. right click on the shaded icon and choose eject 2. at start up, hold down the mouse button until the cd is ejected. |
