| [#1] AV amp versus 2-channel stereo amp ? what are the differences using AV amp comparing to 2-channel stereo amp for listening to music ? i am new and using denon av 2310 for linn m109 loudspeakers ... equipment is pretty new (＞ one month)... i would like to see if i change to a pure 2-channel amp with at least 100W power ... would it make a big difference or should the power be higher (e.g. 120W ?) thanks for advice |

| [#2] AV amp versus 2-channel stereo amp ? 它們二者之間, 價錢係"可以"有好大分別! 50+萬一部monoblock用來聽stereo, 是好平常的事, 但未見過有50+多萬的multi-channel AV amp. (可能係我見識少) 其實AV amp與專用來聽stereo的amp設計, 大家的放大訊號原理都是差不多! 只要用料和工程師調校音色的標準唔同啦... 十多年前的頂級Denon AV amp., 用來推B&W 805, 極度難聽, 但用Denon $6000+ 的stereo amp, 就好得多. (當然仍未到hi-end的音色啦!) 但到了今天, 我用一部平價的(below $3000)的Blu-ray player, 行coxial駁去我的接近60萬stereo大系統聽蔡琴姐, 竟然不是輸九條街, d音色都叫做有板有眼, 見得吓人. 因此, 我今天不敢話AV amp 或AV player 的音色一定奇差無比! 可能係科技發展超快, 因此, 好少錢都有唔錯的音色. 當然, 你要求音色再好10%, 就要付出可能多1000%的錢, 去買Goldmund (for example: $30K買AV amp, $300K買Goldmund)! 值唔值, 就要視乎你個人有幾高燒喇. 只是個人愚見! 請不要串我啦... |

| [#3] AV amp versus 2-channel stereo amp ? evolving from mono to stereo u need better electronics and speakers. similarly when you change from 2 channel to multi channel system u need better electronics and speakers. in silicon valley there is one person using 5 halcro dm power amps to drive 5 wilson audio alexandria i have separate 2 channel system and a 7.2 home theatre system. not all the time i do critical listening with 2 channel. most of the time i watch tv and listen to fm radio thru the 7.2 system with pleasure. what i like using the av system is the pre pro can do autocal helping a bit with room correction and speaker placement. integrating the main speakers with the subs do take a lot of time to get it right. getting 2 subs not to cancel out certain frequencies is a pain and need attention. but once it is correctly set up it is a joy to sit back and appreciate the good sound. for background listening i dont really miss the more expensive 2 channel system |

| [#4] AV amp versus 2-channel stereo amp ? The differences between the similar priced AV amp and stereo amp are like heaven and hell. I have compared a Denon AVR-4802 (U.S. version of A11SR) with a Creek 5350SE int amp. The speakers were B&W Signature 805. Just like the other ching said the Denon was極度難聽. It did not have the transparency, soundstage, tonal balance, and detail that Creek had. Also, although the Denon had 125Wpc while the Creek had only 85Wpc, the Denon seemed to have less power and less control of the bass. Av amp and stereo amp are two different animals. If you want better music listening experience, get a stereo amp. |
