| [#763] AudioNote Ongaku - I am in pain! Regarding CFz.... My friend was using CFz and GE1. I brought my SFz over to my friend's place for a quick comparison. A couple comments: - I think the GE1 is a great deal. It's not very expensive, and from what I could tell, it's not bad at all. - As to CFz, I would recommend SFz instead. Half way through the CFz and SFz comparison, my friend called his dealer and placed the order of SFz. |

For one, Kondo stuff just are not expensive enough these days for such purpose. And of the many fellow Kondo owners I have met, I have yet to meet one who buy one for vanity reasons. I have met people who buy it because it's well regarded brand, but it's a matter of trusting an established brand. Of the typical fellow Kondo owners I have met, they settle into Kondo because that's the kind of sound they like after a typically long hi-fi journey. Sure, others settle on FM Acoustics, Shindo, Linn or whatever float their boat, but few buy stuff at this price point without knowing what they are looking for. So your statement of people spending 500K on 20 watt is for vanity, I find it both ignorant and offensive. You actually think people spending this kind of money haven't really shopped other available products? Or Kondo can survive only on clueless newbies? You have no idea...... |

For people who swear to follow Kondo as only sonic direction, they are not objective but has subconsiously built a preception due to a sense that Kondo built being like a materpeice or a gemstone of hi-fi equipment, they love it because it is Kondo. For sure their product does sound reasonably good but how you justify 2M HKD for a pair of 211 parallel single end mono block that only Russian 6SN7 and Chinese made 211 are provided in this Kondo machine? Did they spend a lot of engineering research or bringing an innovation to make the amp sound better? No such thing, this amp making topology exist almost a century, Kondo people just use such topology and so-called fine tune their sound only. You can do the same. The single end amp topology has existed in the earth since 1920. I build SET for almost 40 years. SET sound undoubtably pure due to its simplicty and triode's linearity with no feedback, but a lot of people can build such amp even more sonically superior than Kondo Onkagu An audiophile during his up-bringing, starting as student who purchased his first low-hi stereo, until to a day he could afford to buy a decent stereo setup. He has subsconsiouly built up a preception that higher priced gear = better sound. We never notice this behaviour until a day that you put several well-regarded sounding amp at the same place and verify your listening without biasing the price. Go check with Audioasylum DIY forum you will find a lot of high hand making much better sounding SET by experience, skill, knowledge and laugh at people who belive silver wiring output transformer being sonically superior, to my understanding, the core of the OPT is much much more important than the silver wire wiring on the opt. Beside, Peter at UK audionote has pointed out the nasty behaviour of cathode follower. It happens that Kondo Onkagu make use of such CF to dirve their 211. I would rather buy UK Audionote Onkagu than Kondo. At least Peter provide really NOS and 10Y vintange valuable driving tube. At last, I can never be able to justify how Kondo price their gear by looking at their investment on engineering or part/labor involved. Situation is like, Seiko watch is reliable and durable but people still want to buy the fragile Constantin (which is not as precise as Seiko) Our CEO sold his Japan Onkagu because someone in Syndey brought his own-built 211 amp (for 1/20 cost) to his house and finally he decided to sell the Onkagu. 最後修改時間: 2017-04-05 23:56:02 |
