- #206 [Tequila], 16-10-08 21:10Anyone still using the ET-2 tonearm?

- #205 [et2], 13-08-29 00:24One of my favorites MC: Ortofon HMC30 Modified.
Very well match with ET-2, after I took off about 3g from the body, the bass didn't loss any deal to its high trackability ( better than its brother MC30S or SII even their figure are better!!! ). - #204 [yukclee], 13-02-13 21:41No ah, not yet....:-(
- #203 [et2], 13-02-12 15:47Hi master yukclee,
Long time no chat, did you finish your pump system?
Nothing new for my tonearm, sometime just take some photos for my cartridges to keep as record. - #202 [yukclee], 13-02-10 08:16Happy new year, et2 hing!

Regards, - #197 [et2], 12-04-22 15:29Hi Master yukclee,
Thanks for your help last time.
Yes one of my TT is VPI HW19 Piano Finish, this one serve me with the ET-2 at the same time, but still works well.
Cheers, - #196 [ayyk], 12-04-22 09:55Hi et2 hing,
Thank you very much for a vivid description, I think that it is needed for such old stuff, will try it when I have enough preparation and time for such maintenance. - #195 [audiofan], 12-04-22 07:17ET2 hing, pls check pm.
- #194 [yukclee], 12-04-21 22:44Et2 hing, you are using the VPI HW19 to match with ET2 too! Great setup!
- #193 [et2], 12-04-21 21:52Hi audiofan hing,
May I ask how much you want for your pump?
Thanks, - #192 [et2], 12-04-21 20:44Hi ayyk hing,
Basically I split in two major parts of the Overhaul.
1, Replace the O-ring and reseal all the joints.
2, Cleaning all 14 holes on the Manifold ( This is not recommended ).
To disassemble the air bearing,
*** I prefer switch on the air pump for the following procedures.
1, Take away Arm tube.
2, disconnect tonearm wire A.
3, Unscrew B and take away ‘Counter Weight Clamp Cap’.
4, remove the ‘Bearing Spindle’
Now you can switch off the Air pump or Compressor for the following procedures.
5, Hold the ‘Manifold Housing’ and unscrew C, now you can remove the ‘Manifold Housing’ with ‘VTA Chamber’ away from the Stand.
6, you can try to push the Manifold away from the Housing by your thumb.
If you are lucky you can make it, but normally is not due to the aging.
If not you have to prepare some tools, a 100sqmm by 12mm solid soft wood like pine and make a hole about 26 to 27mm, a 25mm dia PVC pipe like cable conduit about 100mm.
7, place the Housing vertically on the center of the soft wooden piece and put the PVC pipe on top of the ‘Manifold’ and hammering on the pipe gently.
( Actually I use a plastic handle of a screwdriver instead of the pipe, this is quite easy to hold the center on the ‘Manifold’ and split the force evenly on it due to the half round end of the handle.)
8, After the ‘Manifold’ move a little bit now you can try to use your thumb push about 10 to 15mm more away from the ‘Manifold Housing’.
Then you can use your thumb and index finger push the O-ring to one side and take it away from the ‘Manifold’.
9, Push the ‘Manifold’ back to the ‘Housing’ and continue away from the other side.
*** For the whole processing take care of the ‘Lettering’ printed on the ‘Housing’.
Make some marks for the position if you are not clear, like between the ‘Manifold’ and ‘Housing’ as your convenience.
Have fun & Good luck. - #191 [audiofan], 12-04-21 10:06Silent Air airpump. The filters are for the purposes of filtering oil and water the air from pump contains. I no longer have the ET2.5. If anyone is interested in these pump and filters, I'm prepared to sell them. They are the best to go with any ET tonearm.

- #189 [ayyk], 12-04-21 00:56Hi et2 hing, would like to know how to take the air bearing for servicing?

I would like to find another air pump with a bit more pressure but also quiet and cool. Would anyone has used the Silent Air SS20 and I want to get some comments it this is quiet enough (which maker claim has only 30db noise level).
