- #266 [lw], 13-05-02 23:14Very interested, I think I will get one to see how it compare to pogoplug.
- #265 [benngcp], 13-05-02 23:12Debian with Kernel 3.4.

- #264 [lw], 13-05-02 23:09It seems Cubieboard is an alternative choice for pogoplug which had been sold out. benngcp hing, which Linux you have installed?
最後修改時間: 2013-05-02 23:13:00 - #263 [benngcp], 13-05-02 22:57It is a different animal and they just try to ride on Rasp PI's brand in marketing.
I installed the MPD to stream flac up to 24/192 and DSD files to my Chord DAC, no problem at all. It just needs around 20s to boot up. Simple and fast.
最後修改時間: 2013-05-02 22:58:30 - #262 [syklab], 13-05-02 22:46that;s a beef up Raspberry pi.

Another one with USB EHCI controller, 1G single core CPU, 1G ram,100m Lan and 4G Nand flash memory, called Cubieboard. RMB 308 only. - #260 [beeos], 13-05-02 13:26good finding.
- #259 [Kuro], 13-05-02 12:46Well, the serial output of the Pogoplug during boot confirms it:
Marvell USB EHCI Host controller #0: c0650600 - #258 [beeos], 13-05-02 12:31"Not sure if the Pogoplug has full EHCI USB controller."
-------------------------------------
Have you checked? - #257 [Kuro], 13-05-02 12:29I think the reason to use the Wandboard is that there is a community of developers on it and I see things being developed and debugged very quickly on that platform. Whether it sounds good with a USB DAC/USB S/PDIF converter is another question.
There are people using Raspberry Pi. But I read that the USB controller is buggy on the Pi and it drops data packets. The Wandboard has full EHCI USB controller. Not sure if the Pogoplug has full EHCI USB controller. - #256 [beeos], 13-05-02 11:32其實 pogoplug 行 squeeze server + lite. 都ok.
不過快D當然好D。 - #255 [syklab], 13-05-02 11:22Kuro hing,
The BeagleBone Black from TI is also interesting, comes wiht a 1GHZ ARM Cortex A8 SGX530 graphic engine ,512 DDR3 and 2GB onboard flash. Price is HK$385.80. Enough power for a music streamer platform ? Wonder if we can run Fedora on this? - #254 [syklab], 13-05-02 09:01Kuro hing,
This is very interesting and thanks for your information. - #253 [Kuro], 13-05-02 01:26There is now a community Squeeze OS project going on, which makes use of the Wandboard:
http://www.communitysqueeze.org/index.jsp
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98544-Community-Squeeze-OS-R3
It is based on the Wandboard hardware:

It is not something as cheap as the Pogoplug, but for US$103 ($99 is the student price), you get a significantly more powerful hardware than the Pogoplug, similar to the Cubox but for a lesser price: Cortex A9 Dual core (1GHz), 1GB DDR3 RAM, 802.11n Wifi, Bluetooth, optical S/PDIF, audio out, HDMI, plus an emerging new standard EDM connector.
The hardware is powerful enough to host LMS (together with the Squeezelite player) with nice running speed.
On a separate thread, someone is working on a DAC board which can be plugged into the EDM connectors. The attempt is to replace the SBT completely but with a better DAC chip. - #252 [jimmyihv], 13-04-28 22:17
My DAC1 never sounds so good. - #251 [beeos], 13-04-28 22:02i see, 仲有得上. 好!
- #250 [jimmyihv], 13-04-28 22:00
I haven't upgrade the power supply yet.
I have an Audio-Gd power supply and may try with it. - #249 [beeos], 13-04-28 21:34jimmyihv 兄,
你用乜火牛? - #248 [jimmyihv], 13-04-28 21:33
I spent some more time to play with my Pogo/VAMP V0.4 image.
I found it is a lot better through the VAMP to my Benchmark DAC1 than a direct USB to a desktop computer.
This gadget has the highest C/P that I ever had in playing hifi. - 下一頁 (5 of 18)

Sounds promising. Are you booting the fedora ? Anymore detail on the installation?
Looks like it also supports SATA, is that correct? I am also interested to get one and try.
