The screen message pop up as "Connectng to network", that is it. and when I pressed the power off button. Sometimes the message pop up as " ready to use daphile, 192.168.128.1 hotspot only" before it powered off. Any idea why it does that? How to setup Daphile as an standalone OS on my laptop hard drive? | [#263] Daphile - Another Squeezebox Replacement Hi, I have two PC motherboards, one support Dapile hotspot and the other one doesn't. To test whether hotspot is supported or not, use a Daphile USB flash memory to boot up the PC, if a wifi devise is connected, you will see the option to click on hotspot feature. If you cannot see the option, then Daphile hotspot is not supported. 1. If Hotspot is supported, enable the hotspot feature, after re-boot, the PC is now a Daphile player and also a router of IP: 192.168.128.1, you can use a ipad and type 192.168.128.1 to Daphile conrol web page. 2. If Hotsopt is not supported, you can use wifi to connect to a router, use ipad to Daphile's control web page. | [#265] Daphile - Another Squeezebox Replacement Hi, the use of hotspot is for Daphile can setup as a stand alone music player without using router, of course, you can still use router with LAN cable connecting to Daphile while hotspot is enabled. You can either gain access to Daphile by router's Daphile LAN IP or by hotspot WiFi IP 192.168.128.1. But this config, wifi is only for hotspot use. One more thing, you want to gain access by router, your ipad must hook up to the same network before type//daphile/ to access web control. On one of my netbook, I just need to boot the netbook with my USB , and it automatically turned into hotspot, I dont need to set anything else at all. On my other netbook, it still able to boot from USB, after that I received the screen message "connecting to network", and nothing happen after that. I played around Daphile almost a year, tried different methods to get the best result. However, I found the best CAS interface to DAC is directly using coaxial from PC (my motherboards got SPDIF header), music file is stored at internal SATA 2.5" HDD while OS is stored at a SSD HDD. I still think for red book 16bit/44.1hz format Squeezebox Touch is still very competent. I have two sets myself and use it interchangeably with a kuro modded pogoplug. But for DsD / hi-rez, Daphile may be a better solution |

It runs under Windows and there are some c-hings talk about this in this forum. Really not bad. Just it needs to take about 30sec to load and rewrite the file before playback. Give it a try as it is free. |
