I spent more than 10 years to locate a pair of Spendor BC3. I also spent that much time to locate the original Spendor BC3 Trolley stands. Still no luck though.

When I had my Spendor BC1 I used my own DIY open frame stands. Most new Spendor Classic 100(new version of BC3) also recommends the Something Solid open frame stands.

Recently I finally found a pair of these Something Solid. I have to say they are not cheap even for sencondhand. New is £1800!! I paid £200 but still....VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!

Is it worth it? Well let play some music, Dune 2 again!!!

I couldn't find the original pressing from The Grandmaster but I found the Abbey Road Studio Remastered from CD Warehouse when I had my holiday back in HK.

However, I suspected they were selling a return item or a very bad pressing vinyl. There are so many craking noise and surface noise. I can't believe it is a brand new record.

Nonetheless it's with me in the UK so be it.

Now repositioning the BC3 slightly apart with the new Something Solid and do you think it has improved?

Thanks to Netflix I can watch Studio Ghibli every now and then.

Just finished Valley of the Wind and Castle in the Sky last night!!

While I was happy with the Acoustic Research M1 I think I could make do with the time to tune the Chi3/5.

First will be reducing the wool inside the pillow. I always have a tendency to stuff too much, like I did with Tannoy MG10 before.

So, this after I took nearly 50% of the wool from each speaker.

"問我" was a fresh of air with a theme song of a local HK movie as people were giving more attention and credit to OST.

Wong Kar Wai admits he respects the music from Ennio Morricone very much and no shame in using his music in his production.

Quite right, good music should be shared.

It's brighter than before but acceptable. May put some wool back to tame a little bit further.

I have always been playing with audio gadgets though music is still the main course.

Having more tools can give different perspective at different times, and different circumstances. Like loosing my hearing gave me new opportunity how to appreciate both stereo and mono reproduction.

The gears also allow me to keep going with "normal" life in a sense of continuity of my habits, in photography, DIY projects and everything in life!!!!

BTW, we watched Godzilla -1 in Netflix and is still on.
