| [#26] Mac CAS 同好會 Indeed, many USB DAC in the market today used USB receivers e.g. PCM2704, which are limited to 48kHz sampling input and anything higher will be truncated to 48kHz. But even if your USB DAC receiver is capable for higher sampling input, the USB in the Macbook OSX CANNOT provide output higher than 48kHz and all higher sampling WAV files will be truncated BEFORE it passes the bit stream to the USB cable. You can check this easily with the Audio MIDI setup screen on the Macbook. I understand the only option is to use 3rd party software driver to bypass this such as the M2tech solution. |

| [#28] Mac CAS 同好會 Mac output has no limits. My Wavelength Coscant V2 can output 16bit/48KHZ. But my friend's Mac + Wavelength Coscant V3 can up to 24bit/96KHZ. And also my another friend's Mac + Wavelength Crimson USB DAC can go to 24bit/192KHZ. The limitation is depend on your DAC not the Mac. |
