How are they compare with the Gaincard?Unfortunately, the CD player has ceased in production. Personally I like the overall sound which is natural and even. Nothing fancy, just simple and easy . I also love the design, so funky and different. Gaincard is more direct sounding, slightly less dynamic and depth. Sparkler Audio has a CD transport S515. It used have a separate power supply but the new incarnation Tsukahara has incorporated the power supply into the transport. |

I like it is top loading with Teac pick up and Sanyo lens. Every disc change is like a ritual. It surely is on the lighter side weighting in merely 1.8kg. I asked Tsukahara about the weight and he was pretty offended claiming 'leave the design to the expert'. Only after I apologise to him stating I did not say with any bad intention but curious he revealed he keeps the weight down to minimise any parasitic vibration that could linger in 'heavier' chassis. |
