| [#21] Octave同好會 Thanks nice c hings reply, my v80 has about 50hrs run in. i still hv few questions. 1. V80 use which tube is better? Reissue gold lion kt88? Do not want to but vintage at this moment bcoz it is too expensive. 2. I use stock tube kt88 i think it is svetlana wing c. The sound is coast when i turn bias to mid high. The sound is smoother when i turn bias to mid. I do not think it is normal. Any thing goes wrong with these tube? 3. I am thinking to try kt120 tungsol. Any ppl has tried it yet? 4. Should i buy super black box instead of black box for v80 and c1 sig? 5. Balanced input or rca input which one sound the best with v80? |

| [#22] Octave同好會 1) For cheap tube on the market, EH GOLD is better. 2) mostly Tube character. 3) NO. 4) Frankly, not worth to SBB. Basically, all Octave Int Amp had embedded Small BB inside. The Cap using in Super BB is equivalent the Cap using in Jubilee Pre-Amp. Of course, using in AMP will run-in faster but not worth it unless there is 2nd hand. If you pay so much for SBB, you need to jump into next level la. I am Octave GOD Father in HK. 5) Always use RCA input for Tube Equipement. I am still the 1st HK customer to visit Octave Factory. |

| [#25] Octave同好會 Thx alot dh555, your info is so useful. I just exchange my stock kt88 wing c with my friends reissue gold lion kt88. It is much much better and solves the problem. The stock kt88 is really sux imo. I am going to try more non expensive tubes (free tube), before i go for gec kt 88. |

| [#26] Octave同好會 Never spend money to buy reissue KT88 Tube. I have spend over $40K for KR KT88 in early 2002, only the sonic quality is good but not durable especially used on my Mcintosh MC2000. | [#28] Octave同好會 Just tried sbb. It does improve the sound into another level. I think it is a must hv for octave! I just tried new tungsol kt120, it sound so sweet and strong compare to 6550 new wing c. But the bass is lesser. I will give more run in and tell you whats going with kt120. |

| [#32] Octave同好會 Yes, basically KT66, 77, 88 and 120 are in the same category. However, the electrical working point is different, you may never able to optimise the 60/130Watt output like RE290. Mr Andreas do using the KT120 for his new RE290 for mainly capturing a bigger power. Since Octave power management and design is very good, it is no problem at all but not suggested to do so. Because KT120 do not have good tubes like KT88. I buy Octave becuase of his high stability in using Penta tubes. But I must use Genunie KT88 for musicality. Because, it is less musicality indeed.
