| [#22] Logitech Squeezebox Replacement Which shop? In order for this to work, it has to be Pogoplug E02 using the ARM Kirkwood processor. Other ARM processor will not work. There are many Pogoplugs with ARM processor other than Kirkwood. |

| [#34] Logitech Squeezebox Replacement Does Pogoplug sees your Benchmark DAC1? Does alsamixer see it? You need to run the alsamixer and see if the DAC supports unmute or volume control. If it does, there are some command keys to unmute or turn volume to the max. |

| [#38] Logitech Squeezebox Replacement Dont be disappointed too early: 1. Pogoplug's price, 超值了 2. Pogoplug using switching PSU, mod it will improve a little bit. 3. The linux as told in the tutorial is not audio tuned 4. USB DAC matters, the USB interface might not be good. Let me say something about that linux, it is called Vortex, modified from "Debian Squeeze". I found it having very limited service running, that's good. Talk about the OS part (especially the kernel), I can't find those "irq" services in "ps -A", only the soft IRQ, I originally want to find out those irq processes for ethernet and USB so that I can set real time priority for them. For the software part, the squeezelite that it comes with really not my cup of tea. As I don't like the heavy loaded, bulky design of the squeeze box server protocol (which rides on Perl, an inefficient scripting language). I unload it and install MPD myself (apt-get install mpd). You may try install MPD and do a comparison again. Although the MPD that comes from APT is not latest version (only version 0.15) and no tweaked applied, I guess it still better than squeezelite. At least it runs much faster. |

| [#39] Logitech Squeezebox Replacement I installed Archlinux on Pogoplug, then MPD. The result is no worse than Voyage MPD running on mini-ITX Atom N230, if not better. I also tried the Debian on Pogoplug. The result seems not as good as Archlinux. I have tried MPD running on different machines. So far I found Pogoplug ＞ or = Atom N230 ＞ Asus eee901 ＞ Qnap 109 pro ＞ MK808 TV stick. I have used sb3 for many years, but found MPD is better. |

I did the following, pacman -Syu pacman -S mpd MPD is installed successfully, however, how can I start / stop / restart the MPD service? I can make sound finally, however, it always resample to 48kHz instead of 44.1 for normal CD rip WAVE file, any idea? Thx!
