| [#22] New Jeff Rowland amps will not use ICEpower agreed with epic hing! If 20K fine with the JR Class D amp but my friend told me he bougth the 500 (?) at nearly 100K??? If that is the case, then he (and other pals) are rather stupid, thinking that it is reall high end but now is only regarded as middle ranking! When we talk about hifi we are referring to minimizing distortion with the LARGEST efforts and possibly the most amount of money! We are NOT referring to OK performance with class D amp! That I call the mass AV market! |

| [#24] New Jeff Rowland amps will not use ICEpower I have used many class AB amp including Roland Concentra I and II, Krell 500i, 300i integrated, Audio Research 60i tube integrated, small watt single ended triode such as 71a, vt25, 300B monoblock in the last 15 years. Now I use Nuforce, another class-d. I have not used all the best amps in the world, but I think not all Class AB sound the same, and not all Class-d sound the same neither. It all comes down to design and execution. The best way is to listen to it yourself and let your own ears be the judge. I have read something very exciting reviews about some gears and then went about buying it, and what I received was huge dissappointment. I am in love with the latest class-d now and I am in the process of selling all my precious and rare tube collection, but then I have also heard pretty bad class-d, just as many bad class-ab I have come across. So, listening is the only way to find out the truth. Just my experience |

| [#27] New Jeff Rowland amps will not use ICEpower There are still new design to Class A although the current trend seems to be environmental friendly and even hifi pals are not as enthisiastic about PURE class A amp. Only those who did not grow up in the best era (of ML and Krell that used huge power transformers) would tend to think class D sounds OK! Go and hear a 33H (high current) or the Krell Reference One 4 pieces big buffalo and tell me a Nu Force sounds similar. I doubt if a class D can drive a tradiotional 801 to its full potential. Seems related parities jump out to give "support" of the computer transformers! |

I prefer what i am using now much more, but then I was using different speakers. The one who sold me the nuforce amp is now using JR Research icepower We are all going round and round ^^ |

The parts used inside may be only amount to 10% of its market selling price but it sounds good. Another example is the sky high price of your wife/ girl friends's hand bag. How does a PVC bags ask for 10-100k? |

It's not difficult to control / shield the EMI/EMC emissions today, they just didn't do it enough. I am using a DIY desktop PC, side by side with a FM tuner but never got disturbed. I believe the T-amp's problem of the interference should be solved prior to the sound quality improvement. |

Imagine, if you are a Hi-Fi guy and a Radio ga ga, too, and use Switching Amp (because of green power / save the earth...), can you turn-off your FM Tuner while your are listening to RTHK-4 !!! Sure, "inside the Operation Manual", in this case - the manufacturer would recommend you to relocate the FM Antenna & AM/FM Tuner " XX feet " away from your Switching Amps !!! or simply move it to roof top ! Those manufactures didn't care about it, Oh!, you should listen to LP, SACD, Hi-Definition computer Audio.... . It's exhausting. I have a cheapo Japanese brand AM/FM/CD/USB Mini-Combo (made in China), it's output stage is Class-T (Switching Amp), it's cool running, lean & thin, it just sounded like a Switching Amp but it's very very cheap (for the purpose), too, and not genius Hi-Fi. But, it never disturbs it's our Radio reception (clear & silent) !!! , the manufacturer took care about the Electrical Interference. Also, I found that even homeplugs will sig. degrade the sonic performance of my system, not to mention the cheapy switching amp that pretend to be ha ha ha high end stuff! (but those starters who play switching amp may not be able to tell the difference given their lack of experience. They should also try to listen to some real damned good PURE class A amp before commenting on ba ba ba class A, class AB have JUST differeent sound. They sound better, purer, with more harmonics, and will better extension especially on the bass and sub-bass regions!). Take your swithcing amp and drive an oldy B&W801 or a Genisus to full potential to me please! |
