Right is a broadcast mono turntable with 1HP motor, Hand made pre, WE power... clear top, with good extension, but not quite there bass, still one of the best single drivers I have heard. People kept arriving to sit down after work and listen, the owner William just keeps the LPs turning.  |

| [#29] Any recommended hifi shops in Paris? That is it for this trip. I will be doing non audio shopping for the rest of my trip. This single driver set up was exceptional for mono recordings of classical voice, it was a time machine. But...it was like going back in time to my childhood with some older and big cinema sound....but the experience was emotional. In terms of sound, I still prefer horns with electronic crossover. The French guy prefer to take out the tiny phase problem in this set up. When I was chatting with the boss, and I mentioned I use a CD !!!! everyone in the room turned around .... what a great sin ! |

| [#36] Any recommended hifi shops in Paris? Yes, anphil hing is right. Judging from the diameter as compared with the Saba, the full range on the bottom seems to be a 8 inch. And it is most likely an Altec or Western Electric 755. Interesting, I never thought of visiting Saint Saens' tomb in Paris...Does he inspire you on the music after visiting? haha... |
