Because of the faulty 606 I have to bring back the long-stored away 405 back in service.

I didn't enjoy it before but it was almost 7 years ago and perhaps it wasn't matching well with the preamp.

It seems pairing with the Elekit TU-8500 does bring the best out of the 405.

The temporary 2A fuse innside the 606 couldn't do the job so I ordered some Bussmann fusees.

they arrived this afternoon so I tried the 606 again.

It has been running the whole evening so I guess it's OK now.

105/4 may be too demanding for 405. Kef loves power...........yes, you are right.

However, 105/4 is is relatively easier to drive than my other pair of speakers, the Spendor BC3.

I have used 606.........OK result.

Onkyo M-504 ...don't even mention it.

Biamping with two QSC PA Power AMP which with 600W Mono Power Class B..........just about to hear a little bit of pwerformance but no where near good.
