| [#5145] URGENT!!!Marantz 9 Vs 12.1 on 30 March I guess the others are still enjoying the seafood dinner and also the music produced by the wonderful Eico HF60, Leak TL12.1, Quad II, Fisher preamps and AudioNote M7 through the Tannoy Monitor Red. It is very powerful sound indeed with a lot of energy. I went home earlier and listening to my own system. It is a very different way of handling music and it's hard for me to say which way I prefer. I wish I have both....:-) Looking forward to the postponed M9 vs. 12.1 |

| [#5159] NEC's Tannoy 15" RED party : ) very happy to have comparison between audio note M7 with other vintage tube preamp fisher 400 CX2, EICO. Their sound characters are totally different. The M7 high frequency is very transparent and musical and the 400CX2 is very warm , relax and very well match with leak 12.1. In contrast the M7 is well match with QUAD II and EICO. They have their own advantages I hope next time can meet with Marantz M7 and TL25A. I am also very expecting the M9 and TL12.1 war coming soon |

| [#5160] NEC's Tannoy 15" RED party : ) 尋日既party非常正, 首先多謝屋主Nelson借出地方另外亦要多謝各位brothers借出器材. 今次係我第一次聽TANNOY RED 感覺非常之正!!!! 希望下次有機會聽聽COLIN 既SILVER 作一個比較. pre-amp個人就喜歡AUDIO NOTE M7, 分析力好好, 好滑既感覺同時又表現得好平均, 總之就出色, 其他pre-amp 照個人感排次序 M7 ＞ 50C ＞ 400CX2 ＞ HF85. 至於Power amp 當然係12.1正, 力水好足. HF60都表現出色(果然係EICO既代表) 至於25 PLUS 同 QUAD II就差不多. 今次真係令我好難忘. | [#5161] NEC's Tannoy 15" RED party : ) Thanks Colin drove me from Choi hung and have a nice chat with Stone. Thanks Nelson for the beers and musics and hospitality. I think I will buy the CD Andrea Bocelli asap. We enjoyed a nice dinner with sharings on vintage..ebay matters. Nelson's set up is much better and smoother than the last visit. I think nothing much change than longer run in and figured out the power amp adapter matching with respective to which preamp is used. I like the 50C + TL12.1 with resistor. Without the resistor I found high SPL music is messed up. This like not enough damping to the very sensitive EF37A's grid. I also like the AN M7 (it's price is too high to me) + Quad II. Quad II is a bit shy from top to bottom when compare with Leak point-one. The M7 supplement and make a very good transparent, vigor driving power to the Quad. Vintage pre is unable to make it for Quad. 755A is really something tell you what involving and wonderful music, forget about the both ends extension. It's beautiful and needless to shout as other biggies. Just music it has a presentation totally different from 2-way 3/5A. Of course, it can't be so user friendly as Tannoy Red which is suitable for all music types. However, that's a speaker that must not be missed in Audio life if you are a real enthusisat. 755a has also gave me inspiration of going for full range. Not the tiny overated lowther, fostex..etc (no knoc head please, I have human rights). Exceeding the Tannoy Silver's boundary, I'm testing and turning a psuedo fullrange which runs the Silver's woofer, KLH 19 with NO cross-over, just the mechanical roll off make it. Plus a economy Radio-Shack super tweeter (14k high pass 12db/octave) extend the upmost of KLH (roughly 18kHz) to 40kHz ability. I'm looking forward to have chance to listen to Colin's 15" Silver and the M9 v.s. TL12.1 or TL25A if these happen. Eric |
