After my friend bought my Altec 806a and 811b, I have been looking for a modern substitute, something cheaper and something that is used by many speaker manufacturer, a few days ago, a pair of B&C DE500-8 compression driver and 12" round waveguide horn finally arrived from Parts-Express after 3 days of order, lightning fast.

The 12" plastic waveguide has a very similar contour and dimension (but not material) to the horn on Zingali designed by Geddes.

Zingali flaship also uses B&C DE500-8

Which thread on adaptor do you use between the DE500 and Dayton waveguide?

Do you notice any mismatch between the adaptor and the waveguide entry? I also have a pair of this Dayton 12" waveguide and its throat size seems to be slightly larger than the standard 25.4mm.

I also bought the selenium bolt--＞screw adapator from parts-express for not much money.

which driver are you useing with your dayton waveguide? and how are you using them?

I feel i need to cricically damp the waveguide with a lot of rope caulk on the back t stiffen it.

almost most screw on type waveguide has a 1 3/8" throat before adaptor is screwed in, and once wiht an adapator, it is back to 1". the extra 3/8" is to allow for the screwing. I think
