Long time no talk. My pre and power amp now work very very nice. Sound stage move back to normal position after burnt in (Dec to May). Very Happy. However, my super busy work life comes again and haven't listened any for over 2 weeks.

Strange observation on the small tubes on power amp. 3 of them flash bright (less than a second) when turn on. Then back to normal. Sound and work normally. Then a few weeks later, just 2 tubes. Now, only the left 12AT7 flash. But overall, sound is ok and seems nothing go wrong. Is it normal ? because 1 flash 1 not flash ?! so strange.

About the new reference pre amp, does it has remote ? seems no on the photo. if no, can remote be a special order ? (of course, need to visit you and listen )

Side matter. For my special power amp (tunned for KT77), if I plug 6550 / Kt88, bias still 0.17V ? Of course, I need to tune low the bias first before plug in new 6550 /KT88 ?

I find I really have no need to change the small signal tubes, coz I find the sound is very ok now. But for power tubes, I want to try try 6550/KT88. But I have hurt my back, now can't lift heavy wt to your office !

Any suggestions ? As I may order some tubes from USA (winged c Svetlana ) and may buy a few / a few sets more for spare (except gold lion KT77, KT88 as I think can get it conveniently from you)

Ref-One 已經跟西電417A膽, 理論上唔洗換其他膽了, 417A生命是1萬小時, 417A不是很冷門, 好多地方也有得賣的.

你的後級如用KT88 , bias 是 set 0.18v.
(如換前,先set低 bise , set低到0.1v~0.09v便可以)
老實, 如果聽得滿意無謂換power膽, Svetlana 6550唔會靚過你現用的金獅KT77, 就萛換金獅KT88都只係轉音色而已.
見意你換A2-SE前級中的四支12AT7, 可以試下Telefunken ECC81 或 GEC A2900...

聽了幾日 YS Audio 的 The Real Phono Amp (break-in只約1/10熟??)

一套四件, 三個MC, 一個MM input, 對小弟兩盤三臂來說極方便, 也令音色更统一(以往用兩部 phono amp 加個 step-up 也只插得兩臂), 所佔空間沒有想像中多.

聽了十多小時後的個人感觀:

從音箱出來的聲音兩個字--"冇渣" 干淨利落得來有質感.

聲音速度不徐不疾, 上下伸展明顯而寬容, 收放自如, 氣勢大,有"王者風範"但來得沒有壓迫感, 真的好到無話可說,

音場廣闊豐滿但不擁腫, 一些伴奏樂器以往只若隱若現, 現時則清清楚楚. 尤如看到主樂器與伴奏樂器在台上的距離.

一部設計. 用料, 做工都頂級嘅 Phono amp, 說係"phono amp中嘅瑰宝亦不為過. 敢信現今市場沒有幾部 Phono amp 音効可比 The Real Phono Amp.

現今好些外國所謂名牌Hi-end phono amp動輒二. 三萬美金天價,如此機王價錢只及兩三個中價唱頭價錢,價錢之克己實無法想像. 令小弟真有点如鬼佬講嘅 "steal" 嘅感覺.

以聲, 料, 做工來計就算貴多50%以至一倍還是物超所值.

Nelson兄, 你太老實了!
