| [#42] Jeff Rowland 同好會 Hi, emcl. Upgrade the Synergy to Coherence if you can find one in good condition. It will be a collector's item. Though not formally announced, JRDG has stopped the production of Coherence II. If you insist to put in an order, you probably have to wait more than a year before JRDG collect sufficient orders to make one batch run. I have 2 sets of speakers for the main system, the Apogee Stage and B&W M802 Series3. Both of them were dirt cheap nowadays. I use the older Mark Levinson HPC 1.5m balanced interconnects throughout as they are very neutral. For speaker cables, I was using Nordost Blue Heaven 18 feet run but they don't match 802 well and I am still trying various brands. I would be very happy to find another pair of Randall Research 14" for bi-amping as I only collect 1 pair so far. (Ever heard of the name before? That was the first generation of hifi cables introduced to HK by Mr. Winston Ma of Golden String in the eighties) Another option will be a pair of first generation Cello speaker cables as they are fast and a lot of details, perfect to match my old amps. For power cables, I will Harmonic Technology right now as they are cheap and reasonably good. As I need to use a lot of cables, I have to be cost cautious. |

| [#45] Jeff Rowland 同好會 Hello, Herb hing, I am using Opus Ceramique. I used to use Quadro Fils, just switched to Argento which is more balance than the Quadro Fils. Note: it's very depend on the set up and the room acoustic. |

| [#47] Jeff Rowland 同好會 I am using Elrod in 302, Magic Gem in Synergy. I have not had any experience with AG, but Leo said they are similar character, so I go for the cheaper Elrod. I have not used Venture UR, so sorry, can not answer your question. People telling me Siltech (similar price range)is better than UR. |

| [#48] Jeff Rowland 同好會 IMHO... Elrod is analytical, warmer in sounding with a touch of elegance; AG is highly analytical, transparent, straight and colourless.. Siltech old G3 Gold beats UR. For attaining VERY comparable performance, if not better, but at much lower cost WW cable is also a good choice. | [#54] Jeff Rowland 同好會 Hi, emcl. It may not make much difference in my case as they are 4 monoblocks. But I like horizontal bi-amping in most cases. It is personal taste and is not an absolute answer. Best way is just to try it out and see which arrangement one like most as it is just swapping cables and no extra cost. Yes, I look at JRDG web site and they have announced the end of production of Coherence II. It is quite a pity to see Model 9 and Coherence II gone anymore as they are a major milestone in JRDG development. I will be most happy if I can have 4 Model9s (not counting the batteries) and a late model Coherence II. |
