你所講的 K0DAK金CDR 是指 Kodak Preservation Disc 還是 Kodak Gold Ultima 呢? Kodak Gold Ultima 已停產了很久, 我想你指的是 Kodak Preservation Disc 吧。我亦聽過有人講 Kodak Preservation Disc 不好聲 (Kodak Gold Ultima 亦有人講不好聲), Kodak Preservation Disc 其實是 OEM Mitsui, 這是很多人都認為是好聲的 CDR, 還有你說「試過其他Audio CDR都覺得唔好聲」, 你是不是指那些 CDR for Audio, 其實有不少人以為 CDR for Audio 會特別好聲, 這是誤解, 關於這點, 我在不同的地方已寫過很多次, 以下是其中一段:

As I know, the sound quality of CDR is not related to whether the blank CDR is CDR for audio or CDR for data. Actually, the media of the CDR for audio or data is the same. The CDR for audio is just required to employ SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) in order to prevent making copies from a copy. The CDR for audio is target for the CDR recorder. If we use the computer CD burner, we would rather buy the buy better quality CDR with the price of CDR for Audio (as it is more expensive).

能否燒出好聲 CDR 有幾點我想可以提出來給大家參考的.

1. CD writer 的質素很重要, 我感覺現時的 DVD/CD writer 比以前的 CD writer (不能燒 DVD 的)差, 所以我對 Blue-ray writer 是不是特別好是有存疑的, Plextor Premium 2 就是一個 CD writer, 以 6 年前一個不能燒 DVD 的 CD writer 賣差不多 HK$1,700 真是頗貴的, 但只要燒出幾十隻好聲 CDR 便值了.

2. 燒 CDR 的速度一般都認為越慢越好, 但是現時的 CDR 就是反方向的準備給高倍速的燒錄, 那麼在低倍速情況下可能有「燒焦」的可能, 所以燒錄速度不一定是越慢越好, 要配合 CDR 與 writer 的特性, Plextor Premium 2 有 VariRec 的功能, 可以在燒 CDR 時調節所用的 laser power 的強度, 可以解決這個問題。

3. 燒 CDR 有一個好處, 就是它是複制品, 可以用來做實驗, 弄壞了可以再燒過叧一隻。不妨試試把 CDR 磨邊, 油邊, 甚至磨/油花沒有數據的地方, 聲音會有改善.

4. 金 CDR 不一定最好聲, 但是它有一個很大的好處, 就是非常穩定, 15 年前燒的金 CDR 現在還放得很好, 如果使用 Plextor Premium 2 用上 GigaRec 及 Varirec 去燒錄, 其實 CDR 的穩定可靠更重要。

Instead of burning CD-R, I rip CDs into WAV format and use software up-sample to 24/96 or 24/192 and then burn DVD-Audio disks. Here below are some of the dvd-audio discs I made recently:

The followings are my procedures of making a dvd-audio disc:

1. Use iTunes to rip CD into WAV format
2. Use HD Audio Solo Ultra to up-sample the 16Bit/44KHz WAV files to 24Bit/96KHz or 24Bit/192KHz and then burn the music file with DVD-R disc.

這走進了一些非常具爭議性的話題:
1. 將原本只是 16Bit/44KHz 升频到 4Bit/96KHz or 24Bit/192KHz 是否好聲
2. 用 CAS 放 WAV files 好還是用 DVD player 放 DVD-R 好

再引申至另一些問題, 用怎麼 burner 燒 DVD 好, 怎麼空白 DVD 合適, CDR 已有很多人積聚了不少經驗, DVD 相對就缺乏這方面的資料。

手頭有隻王菲LPCD45頭幾隻歌可讀但有雜聲，由11-18隻已讀唔到！！！

但自己燒的CDR eg. Sony TDK imation等都無事可讀，可想而知佢地用的燒碟機有幾屎！

I am also burning DVD-audio discs, like gy2004 is doing. By a couple of times of A/B tests, the improvement is proved obvious.

but the improvement & difference depends on the software you used and what DVD-audio player you used.

upsampling software I used: Foobar2000, Weiss software.
DVD-Audio Player (also for CD & SACD): Luxman DU-10, very nice sound.

What DVD-R disc you use? I heard -R disc sounds better than +R disc. Is it true?

I used Mitsubishi -R, but i didnot test it is -R or + R better.

Using Mitsubishi coz it is biggest one & reliable one. Amd I dont think nowadays DVD writer or disc media cause too much difference. So use some decent brand is good enough.

burning DVD-audio is similar to have a upsampling CD player...

As I mentioned, the improvement from CD to DVD-Audio is obivous.

I choose some of my favourite CD and make them in DVD-audio. Other CDs, I just play them directly in Luxman DU-10, as the sound is already good.

Some one said main company will stop issue CD, so I wonder why ppl still buy a some luxury CD player nowadays.
