| [#59] MyTek Stereo 192 DSD DAC the article about transmitting DSD signal via USB was certainly interesting but the question remains, i.e., there is no open-standard optical disc based TRANSPORT that can transmit DSD data from a standard SACD to a DAC that can decode native DSD. This is very important to a lot of people owning a reasonable size SACD collection and do not want to go through the route of ripping and playing them on a CAS frontend. Now that we have the Mytek, which I am sure is a very high-quality product, that can decide DSD, but there is no optical base transport that can SEND DSD signal via an open format to a DSD-capable DAC. I am not counting those product like dcs or Esoteric that sends signal between their own brand of product via proprietary means. I don’t think the issue will get any better since due to licensing issues. Does anyone have any clue? |
