As the AR1 was using a WE755A as mid/high range. It therefore the AR3's mid is very closed to 755.

I agree with jblfriends hing,

My AR3a (re-issue) can compete with full range Lowther and Altec; so I don't wonder that the AR3 (alinco) can compete with JBL horn.

I think that the AR3/3a still cannot win the mid-range of either Lowther, Altec 755 or JBL horn; but it is very closed already.

More information,
The mid-range of 3a is better than the Tannoy Stirling TWW that I used before.

參考1.
使用 ARC SP-6B + D79 推動 AR3 Alnico V 版本, 信號源Harman Kardon ST-7加上Grado MM 頭. Mark Levinson HF-10C speaker cable.
參考2.
使用 ARC SP-6B + D79 推動 JBL 2441 + Hartsfild的抗散葉+ 2405 + LE15A blue color 版本,分音器係LX-5 + N7000.聲箱用米松木夾板製造.
信號源Harman Kardon ST-7加上Grado MM 頭. Mark Levinson HF-10C speaker cable.

總結:
我自己
經過24小比較,我感覺各有各好.不能作實際比較.

I don't think so.

As I used Lowther PM6A & Altec 755C before, of course, AR3a cannot win them (in terms of mid/vocal).

But, I belief AR3a's vocal/mid is powerful than JBL4311, L100, 4425 & L65. (same price level with 3a).

For my ear.

After few days with the AR3a, I can say that it's mid-range / vocal shall not poor than mine Altec 755C too much;only a bit. But the low and high is much better than the 755C with BLH cabinet.

今天走進德發地庫CD shop.他們用AR TSW + 300B intergated amp 組合播放國產CD,自己迷戀古老AR三十載,AR TSW 聲音真的不錯,真是套用佛家術語,一切事物看我們做化,要TSW活得精彩,就看物主做化,雖然CD shop 係無心插柳 (因又買國產CD + 二手機),令我回想起AR M1, Mark 仔當年用AR M1 做 Cello equipment Demo 不是單做廣告宣傳,他有理由相信M1係好野,當年這宣傳手法令明發行賣多幾十對M1, M1 單元出自AR TSW,
TSW series 勝在設計概念,如果朋友有意玩舊generation氣墊AR揚聲器,不防從這些例子作參考.
