[#6225] One of my lucky days Just listen to the opening of of Liszt Piano Concerto No.2, again, one of my favorite. Although woodwind opens the piece, most of the time, I consider it commences when piano plays the four notes "ti do re me" at about 1min 43 sec (timing information from Philips label Arrau/Davis/London Symphony Orchestra). I particularly like these four notes and always look for soloist who can play them with strong 感染力. Do you think "ti do re me" is a very good opening ? Of course, this is only my personal opinion. |

[#6228] Westminster chimes Hi Trollope, Just recall your message dated 05-11-21 23:20: I left part of my youth in this great hall after the concert was concluded. Vaughan Williams's "A London Symphony" was performed. Background of your pictures is always attractive. It seems that my DC (combination of focal length/aperture) cannot support this kind of depth of field. The best I can do so far is the one I posted on 06-11-27 00:17. |

[#6231] Mozart Thanks for wslam hing in thread "Mozart! Mozart! Mozart!" introducing the website for all the scores of Mozart free online. Listening to Piano Concerto No.20 K466. The "so la ti do" notes present a 鬼祕的氣氛 The syncopated notes (in string section) gives a feeling of moving forward. There is similar syncopation in Mozart's Symphony No. 25 which offers a strong feeling of moving forward. Both pieces, in minor key, are my favorite. ![]() |

[#6232] Casals Festivals at Prades Chamber music lovers or Casals fans may consider to go for this box set. It consists of 13 CDs and 5 of them are the first time issue on CD. Only have time to listen to the 1st CD (Mozart Piano Quartet No.2 in E-flat, K.493 and Schumann Piano Trio No.3 in G minor, Op.110), worth for money. ![]() |
