| [#692] MyTek Stereo 192 DSD DAC Can't really comment the sound yet, just too soon. I think I can share a bit from operation point of review. Initially I bought it for LP/DSD, but run into a problem on connecting the monitor out from preamp (that's another story). It supports DSD playback through SDIF-3, therefore it matches perfectly with MyTek Master version. I'm using Mytek WORD SYNC OUT to DA3000 WORD SYNC IN. (I tried reverse, as shown in the picture of the first post, but I don't like that sound) Also, the SDIF-3 interface only supports DSD, so PCM has to go through AES, and the clock arrangement is the same. It's not that convenient because I need to switch the input for playing PCM/DSD. Audio files can be stored on either SD/CF/USB stick (Manual says that USB HDD is okay but it should be external powered HDD). It only supports WAV/DSF/DSDIFF so I need to convert my ALAC back to WAV. Now I intended to move one step forward to upgrade to Tascam DA3000. Will you recommend me to do so?? I wish to know: 1) whether Tascam DA3000 support mult-voltage input ? 110/220v? 2) whether it can be a Digital upsampling converter! that supports PCM digital input (say, from a CD Player digial output) and then upsamples the such PCM signal to DSD, outputs DSD-RAW/SDIF-3 signal to the Mytek 192 DSD. | [#695] MyTek Stereo 192 DSD DAC audiolover c-ching, Not sure if going from DV1000 to DA3000 is upgrade or downgrade, as I believe DA3000 is a lot cheaper. :) Anyway, I'm afraid that the answer are no, for both. "220-240V" is labelled on the chassis. There is no indication in the manual whether it can be adjusted internally. For the second question, I had the same thought as you before. Since I made the order after the manual is released so it's not a surprise, in particular my primary purpose is to record LP, so SDIF-3 playback is a bonus to me already. It's what written in the manual "When the DIGITAL IN/OUT (SDIF-3) connectors are connected, the DIGITAL IN/OUT (S/PDIF / CASCADE) and DIGITAL IN/OUT (AES/EBU) connectors cannot be used to input and output digital audio signals." I believe only DSD up-sampling to DSD and then recording to a file is possible Not sure if you read my posts in other thread, I did try DSD upsampling from 44.1 WAV using AudioGate. The result is a mixed bag. DSD upsampling may actually sounds worse in certain circumstances. I bought it at TsengFok and it seems that they ordered another unit, not sure if it's another pre-order. You can go there and check it out. |

| [#696] MyTek Stereo 192 DSD DAC dvmrp c-hing, Thanks for your info and help! I believe what you said is the truth! Both DA3000 and DV1000 can't be a DDC! Now I used a Yamaha S2000 SACD/CD Player as the source, outputs Analogue signal to DV1000 and then the DV1000 converts such analogue signal to DSD digital, and outputs DSD-SDIF3 to my Mytek 192 DSD! Same as you, duringthe DSD word syncronizing between the mytek and tasam, applying mytek's clock as master clock, I've found that the Mytek clock does produce superior sound quality (to my ears) than the Tascam clock. To keep you busy, I have found that the red book CD playing in this way (as abovementioned) does sound more better!! ( I have tried Mark Levinson 31/30/360s/37, DCS...combo for doing such comparison.) To me, I verily believe, Mytek + Tascam, No regret!! Thanks brother and please enjoy.
