| [#63] Luxman SQ38-U C-Hing, are you using wireless internet or cellphone (or neighbour using)? Sometimes cables will pick up noise if not shielded properly. Or maybe some noise in the power lines? I listened to it 2 times at dealer (not sure for how long they turned it on) and it sounds very smooth. |

| [#66] Luxman SQ38-U wakalaaa and smallpotato C-hings, can you give us more detail about the "noise" at high frequency range? Is is noise you can hear (grainy, background noise like playing LPs) or something you cannot describe as sound, but feels uncomfortable? If it has same problem in 2 different setups, then it might be a tube problem. Not sure which brand is included in the amp, but should be some kind of cheap Russian tubes. Maybe change the brand might help. I like this amp a lot so I'm planning to go to a couple of dealers to listen it in more detail. |

| [#68] Luxman SQ38-U I guess there are 2 possible causes. 1) Noise in power line. If you turn on your computer and fluorescent lamps, it will add noise into the power line and can hear from speakers. I don't have power filter, so I can hear "Di-Di-Dak-Dak" sound from speakers when someone turn on light in the room. Also, I find the sound more "pure" and detailed after I turn off my PC, so I know my computer injected noise in power line. 2) Cheap tubes. I like Electro Harmonix tubes, they actually sound not bad, but I cannot expect them to be quiet due to their price. So some tube hissing noise (like playing cassette tape) from speakers is expected. Maybe you can try borrow power conditioner from friend and see if it can fix your problem. |
