In my opinion, it is not the great album of Ella if recording is not counted. I sold my copy after listening to it for twice. Personally I prefer Ella's "song book" series. Sorry, no users reviews but it is an excellent "best of" CD set which includes most hit songs of Sassy that are recorded at the peak of her career. I paid only HK$125 (3CD, 73 tracks) for it at HMV. | [#79] What is your Jazz music having tonight ? I am not a die-hard fan of Billy Holiday but her grestest albums like "Lady in Satin", "Lady sings the Blues" are in the top notch in jazz histroy. Personally I prefer her recordings near the end of her life (mid 50's onwards). Well...her vocie is not as "sweet" as when she is young but more touching, and more sexy... stunning. This one is my favourite album of her. "Bill's Best".  |
