Interesting topic There are a few approaches.. 1)by some sort of tensioning spring 2) magnetic 3) servo motor 1&2 operate or designed in a way that operating from above zero to a desire level of allowed tracking force, a counterweight is always around at the back I tend to believe 2) shall have no influence on the sound No. 1 is really depending on how they implement the dynamics balance NO3 IS QUITE a different story, personally I never beleive in servo feedback and correct system applied for random and dynamics changing signal system Nowaday sensor and MCU processing and related hardware program is quite easy and cheap, dynamic tone arm can be made quite different too There can be very different initiatives for designing a dynamic tonearm, which no. 1 or 2 can be very different Designer for no. 1 may aims for allow user have a peace of mind for playing the Record at less Than Ideal set up Designer for no 2, may have a vision of better sound If it is no. 1 type, Really have to look at it in details on how they implement it, it can make sound less good, or same or even better Fun topic Haha |
