| [#862] Cheap turntable appreciation haha I have a further look at the We317 and it seems to me that the headshell mount is quite original. I compared it with other SAEC arms, WE-308 and WE-317, and they look pretty much the same made. That said I do agree that it could have issues with the double knife as the seller also selling other parts of the arm. It smells fishy. |

| [#865] Cheap turntable appreciation haha #863 This is my current turntable setup, for POP music, i use the SAEC WE-506/30 with Supex, for Jazz and Vocal, I go with Audiocraft with Van Den Hul Black Beauty, the Micro MA-808X for testing cartridge or some POP vinyl, the SAEC 407/23 have been idled for years, may change it to other tonearm when a few of my MC cartridge being restored.  |

| [#871] Cheap turntable appreciation haha #870 I just got some tonearm I liked, not really good at all........I do wish to acquire the Moerch, Graham, Kuzma, Triplanar to my collection in the future........ but I don't have more turntable to setup more tonearm at the time being...... :P Comparing tonearm is a bit tricky...... as it need to match with the compatible cartridge technically, some cartridge tend to work well with Uni-pivot, while some love the Gimbal or knife bearing even these tonearm are at the same effective mass level......... therefore, it is really hard to compare the tonearm with scientifically justify result........ and the time and setup the tonearm with the cartridge with optimal performance is huge that make the shot out very time consuming........ |

Simple and effective design, price friendly, if it have integrated armrest and arm lifter that convenient to setup in any kind of turntable, I am sure I will collect one..... the modern similar such as Roksan Nima adn those China made tonearm would cost a few times more expensive but with similar performance........ I think the GH228 can work with those light weight mid compliance MC cartridge such as the Denon DL-30X series.......... |
