| [#86] Jeff Rowland 同好會 Dear Willy, U're too humble. Your gears are many dreams to many audiophiles. Dear Honeybee, Many DACs are better than mine. Dear EMC1, Generally speaking, StageIII has a very good soundstage; Argento sounds more civilised....but that depands on different combinations. Sometimes expansive cables may not be the best; cheap cheap cables may sounds even better in the right position.......Honeybee must know what I mean.... Dear acck, The answer to your sentence is not so simple.....that depands on the setup of the gears. I found JR Synergy IIi the "bottleneck" in my combos. Everything did better without the JR pre-amp. Fortunately, my DAC has very high output to drive the amp directly without any obvious problems. IMO, pre-amp is the most difficult part of different Hi-Fi gears. Certainly, I'll look for a better pre-amp; nevertheless a good pre-amp means $$$$$$...... |
