| [#81] Tannoy 同好會 I really don't know the price now. Saw the 15" unit gone on ebay over $4,000 a pair. Those 12" with box gone around $6000 - 7000 a pair. After that, few people want to sell after they own these speakers. I know the Japanese bought them all (almost) from UK during 1970 when they use it with WE300B. Taiwanese started to crazy about this compo. Tannoy vintage + We300B diytfy! |

| [#83] Tannoy 同好會 just saw someone sold a pair of 15 inch silver to somebody at HK$30,000. Think about this is the vintage and rare in production. Units sound better than the newer unit used in Westminster Royal. This price is a steal. Good luck for the buyer! diytfy! |

| [#86] NON-coaxial Tannoy SIlver 12 This is not co-axial, but with seperated magnet may have less interference of both frequencis. Now both are better drivers tim. The price of a pair of silver and original box gone for over $7000 few months ago. So this price is not too expensive yet. |

| [#89] NON-coaxial Tannoy SIlver 12 I tend not to agree that in terms of materials and technology, vintage gear has to be inferior to modern. We must note that some materials, which are alleged to casue certain illnesses such as cancer, are banned. Some rare metal ingredients are also not found nowadays. Besides, some machined-produced products are very much inferior to hand-made things by sifus, just like men's suits. We must acknowledge that some things in the past are still far superior to many things nowadays. This is absolutely so in the music world. Do we have any Beethoven, Mozart now? Can we say Twins are better singers than Anita Mui or Roman Tam? It is also recognized by so many people that vinyls are better than CDs or even SACDs/XRCDs. In the western world, they have the so called the "revival of the vinyls". Are these gweilos nuts? Just my two cents JL |

| [#91] NON-coaxial Tannoy SIlver 12 Down to basic as a 'resistor' when we (I meant scientists) manage to make resistor by laser technology and is able to produce 0.5% tolerancy resistors. When measuring inductance instead of tolerancy, we found the old A/B wooden carbon ash composite resistor with zero inductance sounds much better with it's shy lower accuracy. Tannoy inherates the vintage pepper horn to the much expensive Westminster Royal, and not on the cheaper Westminster TW, and you know why the older the better here. |

Anyway, bought a Westminster/R 1989 and migrate Sydney, HiFi fever gone cos no HiFi friend, the Westminster/R was driven by Accuphase E305 and DP70, what a bloody waste, knew it need a nice valve amp to produce best effect but restrict by buget, speaker edge now starts rotting, not sure just reroll with OEM parts or recone with original Tannoy parts, quite expensive la, please advise. |
