[#101] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club 難得師兄會試同"fallback to original"!

[#106] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club Almost done and already performed some testing. Benchmark's USB interface, firmware, UltraLock2™ Jitter Attenuation System are really really good ,low jitter, smooth and stable.

[#107] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club I2S signals were extracted just before ESS9018. Those are the final PCM / DSD signals that have been processed by Benchmar's UltraLock2™ Jitter Attenuation System. It is so difficult / high risk to solder on three consecutive pins of ESS9018.

[#108] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club Once I2S signals have been extracted, they can be sent out to other dac by an I2S to LVDS-HDMI interface. It has been installed into my dac 2. Now, my existing dacs with HDMI-IN(like TDA1541A, WM8741, Wyred DAC2, Buffalo III, ...) can enjoy the super clean and almost jitter-free PCM/DSD signals from Benchmark. After some listening test on various dacs, I would rate a '9' on Ultralock2 and '7.5' on its own dac.

[#109] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club Thanks Steve, how's the "dac" part of benchmark dac2 compare with Wyred4Sound dac2?

[#110] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club The Benchmark's UltraLock2™ Jitter Attenuation System simply provides upgrade to all my existing dacs. As Wyred4Sound Dac2 and Benchmark are using the same dac with difference mainly on output stage. I don't want to comment on those 2 Dacs based on my subjective view. But, I will say the output stage of Wyred4Sound Dac2 is not weak at all. ![]()

[#112] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club You can purchase the HDMI-I2S send & receive cards at here. http://www.kandkaudio.com/digitalaudio.html If you feel comfortable with LAN cable, then you can use 2 pieces of teleporter instead at here http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/teleporter.aspx

| [#113] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club Hi Steve ching, A question about cubox. Yesterday I got it, and follow your link to download the IMG file, then I use VM Linux format the SD card, and run the "zcat xxx.img | dd of=/dev/sda". It writes data to the card for about 40 minutes. Then when completed, I disconnect it and put into cubox. However, it just not boot up. I check with "fdisk", it shows two partition (first is 9MB, second is 3.xG, rest of the sdcard), the problem is, it reports cylinder figure for partition boundary is invalid. I tried three times last night but problem still exists. Do you have any idea? Thx P.S. I tried using "zcat" command and simply use "7zip" decompress it first and use "dd if=xxx.img" instead but both said partition invalid. |

[#114] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club Just found an image writer which gives a more reasonable speed (9MB/sec): http://delog.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/write-ubuntu-image-file-to-sd-card-on-windows/ Try tonight when back home to see does problem solved or not.

[#115] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club I have came across boot up problem on some mini sd cards (e.g. all ADATA). I would suggest to use the HKD39 Scandisk 4GB micro sd hc.

[#117] Benchmark DAC2 Fans Club I think it should work. One more important / confidential setup within Diskstation, you must create a dummy folder 'Music' under the standard 'music' folder. All your music files must put under 'Music'. Don't ask me why, just do it otherwise cover art won't work.
