| [#122] klangfilm information There are different versions of EL12 with different max voltage rating e.g. EL12/325, EL12/350, EL12/375, EL12/425, EL12N etc. You have to make sure the circuit operates the tube within the max rating and it can replace 6L6, KT66 and even EL34. For example, the EL12N will work in a Leak TL12.1 and sound better than KT66. |

How is the sound quality of RFT EL12? 401a is hard to find, let alone the price tag. Any economical recommendation? Also have some EF12, AZ12 and EZ12 and want to put them to good use. Thx.  |

| [#126] klangfilm information If it is the basic EL12, then you should assume the max voltage rating for the plate to be 250V only. EL12N can take max 425V and is the worst sounding among EL12. But it still sounds better than GEC KT66 and most NOS EL34. |

| [#127] klangfilm information The best sounding EL34 amp from Klangfilm is the KLV-502 and it is one of the best sounding EL34 amp ever made if not the very best. KLV-408 is the 2nd best Klangfilm EL34 amp followed by KLV-408a. Even the KLV-408a sound much better than Marantz 8B, which is perhaps the best known EL34 amp in the world. | [#128] klangfilm information Some 6SELA has 16/8ohm output but need to modify by yourself. http://www.tube-classics.de/TC/Klangfilm/OPT/OPT.htm 408 sound much than better than 408a, the only different is the choke. If your speaker is 8ohm, I recommended to use 6GB8 instead of EL34. No need to change circuit. |
