| [#2] Pioneer S-2EX (Bookshelf speakers) dont use it but i have heard it in dealer's showroom. very well constructed cabinet and sound very pleasant. pioneer's EX Series speakers are a unique international fusion—they're designed by an Englishman, in America, for a Japanese corporation, and are manufactured in China. the EX speaker series is the product of collaboration with the team at Technical Audio Devices (TAD), including design genius Andrew Jones, who spent 11 years at KEF and has the English accent to prove it. TAD is headquartered in Long Beach, California, alongside Pioneer Electronics, and designs both professional and home gear. first manufactured in 2007 so it is about 3 years old. 86-88db and nominal 6 ohm. someone in the web mentioned a big impedance swing around 4000-5000hz so u will need a beefy power amp to drive those puppies properly. choosing speaker is very individual. u have to experience yourself before u buy. if the price is below hk$50,000 then think deeper. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/component/content/article/779.html |
