[#3] Logitech Transporter I bought one at http://www.drugsaudio.com 2 years ago. It's shop is in Kwun Tong. If they don't sell it anymore, you can try if you can buy it from Logitech web site. Transporter is a very nice product, a stereophile class A product. Love it. 最後修改時間: 2012-07-23 20:58:45

[#5] Logitech Transporter I think almost all old Transporters were ordered direct, that's how mine were bought. Transporter is pretty much discontinued since Slim Devices got acquired by Logitech. It is incredible how Logitech destroyed the product. They have put zero development effort on the Transporter, only milking the old parts bin. They ran out of parts for the transporter forced feedback knob and changed that into an "SE" version which is just the same Transporter with the knob yanked out. They are still clearing stock and you can see Transporter on sale in their web site and sometimes eBay. Regardless the Transporter is an engineering tour de force, a one off from Sean Adams. Being a 5+ year old design the technology is a little long on the tooth but still a very nice product.

[#6] Logitech Transporter Agentsmittie, You got very good insight! I can't agree more. Side question: I am using Transporter + Leben CS300XS + Harbeth C7-ES3. I am very satisfied with the sound overall, but would like to make the vocal more involving and fluid. Any recommendation? I listen mainly to vocal and jazz, sometimes pops.

[#7] Logitech Transporter Thanks all Chings for the info. I just received one from US eBay through 代購since they don't offer international shipping. But unfortunately its display doesn't work after operating a few hours, it's all dark now but other functions are still running without problem. I'm now just checking any guy/shop can fix it.....so poor I'm.

[#9] Logitech Transporter One of the older version of Squeezecentre server software have problem in displaying Chinese correctly. I updated the software and it now work perfectly well. You can replace the font if you are using Logitech Touch, but I am not aware of any way to replace TP's font. 最後修改時間: 2012-07-24 22:12:14

[#10] Logitech Transporter As I suspected Logitech has no interest in repairing old Transporters, pretty much given out on the product. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?95537-Need-Repair-for-Dead-Transporter So it is caveat emptor (buyers beware). As long as you realize the risk of the lack of support from the vendor, it is still a good product IMO. 最後修改時間: 2012-07-25 22:15:06

[#13] Logitech Transporter >> Aurender S10. Excellent! But expensive. And it is a transport only, one still needs to buy a DAC. The alternative to Transporter is SBT+Anedio D2. Exellent without the price tag. Even more excellent after modding the clocks on the USB section of Anedio D2 :)

[#14] Logitech Transporter dkyy, I am no expert on this, just an early adopter of Squeezebox. In fact I am now using Mac Mini and DAC, so I haven't been using streamer for a while now. There are more and more options out there. The first that comes to mind of course is the Linn DS which has a head start amongst all the new players after Slim Devices. Naim was sort of the third player who came into this game. With various streamer models now. I have no doubt the sound quality of Both the above 2 players to be superior to the Transporter. But in terms of user interface and flexibility 2-3 years ago they were nowhere near the Transporter, but I am sure now they have largely caught up. By the way Linn also followed the Slim Devices open source model, and in fact last time I checked you can actually install a "bridge" Squeezebox and use squeezebox remote to control the Linn DS, enjoying all Squeezebox features. The other significant player of course is Sooloos which got bought out by Meridian, but the starting price is quite high from what I understand. Olive is also early in the game and has OK interface, not sure how they fare in the audiophile department, they did come out with a audiophile high end model. All the others I consider Johnnies come lately, which includes the venerable Weiss MAN301, Aurender, Cambridge, Bryston, Musical Fidelity and pretty much every major player. Every one is coming into this game, I personally take a wait and see attitude and use Mac and Pure Music with a DAC in the interim.

[#15] Logitech Transporter agentsmittie, Thanks a lot for sharing. Two years ago I compared Transporter with Linn DS and Naim Unitiqute, and I finally picked Transporter. Not because it was the cheapest one among the 3 but I liked it's sound the most - very high resolution and density. It's sound is a bit analytical to me but I match it with tube amp and Harbeth that brings me very good music. I once connected the digital out of Transporter to Lavry DA11, and eventually found the Transporter alone sounded better to me. I also tried connecting the digital out of Squeezebox 3 to digital in of Transporter (as some on the Internet said a cheaper transport sounds as good as an expensive one, and only the DAC part matters). Again the Transporter alone blow the SB3+TP combination out of water. Just my 2 cents.

[#16] Logitech Transporter Music is very personal. I tried the transporter and my comment is bad. And now it is even cannot support EDO as touch for 192k. I will stick to sbt with decent DAC (eg. Zodiac) rather going back to the obsoleted product

[#17] Logitech Transporter Yes it is very personal indeed. A couple of years ago my friend and I brought my stock Transporter to a showroom to compare with the Klimax DS. To me they both sounded wonderful but I struggled to hear differences between them. I am never a good listener but my more sharp eared friend did think the Klimax DS was slightly more resolute, but not my much. Of course many people may hear otherwise, one just have to listen for himself. I would say for the price, you'd be hard pressed to find anything vastly superior. I personally subscribe to the thinking that modern well executed digital gears do not sound that different. My personal strategy is to get a decent DAC that is relatively future proof, and build around it. Many people would think "digital" and "future proof" is oxymoron, but there are DAC makers out there who are dedicated to making sure their products are at least one or two generations upgradable. Mind was upgraded from 24/96 USB to 24/192 via a hardware card upgrade, and has promised a DSD firmware upgrade. And is built to last for years.

[#18] Logitech Transporter What DAC are you using? I have been trying to find a sub-15k external DAC that is vastly superior to the internal DAC of TP. I have no luck so far.
