| [#5] Daphile - Another Squeezebox Replacement How is it differ in sound performance from Jriver? Which isnt v expensive to buy anyway. Is there anything that Daphile offers that Jriver doesn't? I think the people who choose Squeezebox Touch (the hardware) over cas on jriver/pc/mac are attracted by the hardware player and the simplicity of the stripped down Linux computer which has got many of the i/o that would have caused interference/extra cpu load removed, but not the server/GUI which I find mediocre. Perhapa Daphile offers unparalleled simplicity and minimum cpu usage? |

| [#8] Daphile - Another Squeezebox Replacement my Atom 2800 motherboard, with 4G ram run 24hours a day non stop, the OS is inside a 4G fusb flash memory. simple and reliable, don 't even have a HDD. But for Jplay, Jriver, they are running in Window, a lot of background running, you need a hard disk too. As for sound quality, it beats my CD transport by a big margin. |

I wouldn't say Daphile is better or even equal to Aurender but its an acceptable trade-off considering Daphile is free and the hardware is almost worthless! Whats more with Daphile is that I can now use my Android phone to control my music via squeezebox controller app which is much more convenient in my opinion. |
