| [#29] 30ips tape on 12.5in reel Hello brothers, I haven’t entered this post for sometime. Now I have a Studer A-820, A-812, and A-810 all bought from an Ex-Studer colleague owned company and fully serviced before packed and shipped from Switzerland. All three machines are capable of 4 speeds up to 30IPS. Adding the A-807 I owner for some years, now I have Four Studer capable of 30IPS, hehe. I also found the UK label Chasing the dragon sells 30IPS tapes. There is also a Taiwan label selling 30IPS tapes. Please share your other sources for high quality 15 & 30IPS tapes which are fully licensed. |

| [#20] 30ips tape on 12.5in reel China R2R are not cheap anymore, and many are assembling by different cards n parts from different version, I come across to see different version of audio boards in L /R channel of a recorder, even more the caps n some components are not same spec…. How come they can live together to produce accurate audio calibration? |

| [#18] 30ips tape on 12.5in reel 30ips definitely better than 15ips with less Noise n better, normally, the faster the play/Record speed, the better the reproduction sound quality. Higher tape speeds spread the signal longitudinally over more tape area, reducing the effects of dropouts end up the best possible treble response and lowest noise-floor in theory. The negative end is double length of tape in use with half time, keep changing reel of tape for every 16.5mins for 2500fts long tape. It is a matter of value vs improve % in ear hearing, unless u r very demanding seek for the best by all means, n using supreme $$ audio system, otherwise 15ips(38cms) is good enough for tape music enjoyment… don’t forget many audiophile still happy with cassette tapes music!  |

| [#15] 30ips tape on 12.5in reel I do both, buy from European studio like Horchhouse,fonte or AP 2T 15ips prerecorded music tapes and also do my own recording on new RTM SM900 / 911. The new SM900 has the best spec in terms of dynamic range, highest in S/N n Biased with much more headroom, means you can push up the tape with more +db without distortion! SM900 best for classical music n Symphony while SM9111 better for Jazz, pop….. |

Always amazed by the look.. With all those custom switches.. Etc.. Head sizes.. Etc U mostly listen to pre recorded material or make your own recording of some sort? If you make our own recording which tape u trust the most? Is 30ips really better than 15ips? Haha thx for sharing... I guess not much people in the world, some.. Not really not many having that collection of reel machine under one roof.. Seem make sense to make something out of the v66/67 circuit...
