| [#71] TVC full balanced passive preamp Since I have tried several TVC and I suggest that the new DIY/user should try the MagicAudio 4-Autotransformer design because it will reduce a lot of wiring works and sound excellence, it will support true full balanced in/out, very rare in the market, most important reasonable cost. | [#70] TVC full balanced passive preamp Thanks, iangle hing, I took a look and browse the web and only to find that the Bespoke is run by Harry O'sullivan. When Harry was working in Music First AUdio, he introduced the Baby Reference to me in 2011 or 2012 (cant remember the exact year). I owned almost all model of MFA TVA at that time. He told me he quited MFA later in 2014 or 2015 and now I am so glad he is setting his new business and dedicated in TVC product. |

If your system has enough power from Amp + Speaker efficiency, you don't need a Pre-Amp..... you just need a perfect volume control and this is why I sold my Cello suite and started my journey in passive preamp. |

| [#61] TVC full balanced passive preamp Dear mr,chan, Unless one has many years of DIY experience and also willing to settle for minimal function, I would suggest to serious audiophile to buy a decent top model TVC from Bespoke or Music First Audio instead of DIY one for themselves. The rest of other TVCs in the market? Forget them all la. I have tried and owned many names and they all sound lean and dry to a certain extend, perhaps they might better well match with those high output vintage tube power amp. I once opened up my Baby Reference TVC only to find that the numbers of soldering points are enormous and almost uncountable. Hundreds? oh my god. Even if you had thousand of spare hours, you would still mess up the job at the end of the day. |
