[#128] 最近尋寶嘅收穫邊位老兄將我十二年前嘅post重推返出口嚟！不過都要多謝佢比我睇返呢個post.那些LP有些還在，有些已賣了！現在已買少了好多LPs，一年都買唔到廿張。套HiFi亦有變化…Genesis喇叭賣了，現在用KEF104.2自己換了所有caps, 換了doughnut hole cap, tweeters加了ferrofluid，對喇叭好似新嘅一樣。Audio Research SP3A1前級賣了，一個非常錯的決定。而家用SP6,部D76A還在但已經無開。現在後級用Audio Research VT100 Mark 3；唱盤還是SOTA的但已不是 Star Sapphire 4 而是Nova 4. 現在最大的問題係無時間聽歌! 一個月開套HiFi兩次已經非常不錯!有時間我都想再post係呢十二年裹買到既LP!		alec6266 正式會員 47.xxx.xxx.42	2021-07-22 16:49

this is one of the example...super nice music ... and becasue it is not those "Famous GOD LP..".... many of them super cheap at Taobao.......... for shopping LP... try taobao...

Adria, your observation is generally right, I have seen so many good condition outer jacket with scratched LP inside. I have picked up a fair amount of Living Stereo and Mercury Living Presence LPs only to put them down at the end because of bad condition. That is why I check every single LP before buying. However, this batch of LPs is surprisingly in good condition and the best part is the seller willing to let me go through them one by one. That is why I spent so much time in his place the past weeks.

Of course, I have to admit that buying 2nd hand LPs depends on your luck most of the time.

My experience is that used USA LPs conditions are not very good because of the ways Americans used the LPs. I got some US imported LPs from Taiwan and got this experience. I tend to buy usede LPs from Japan and the condition is really good although the labels are mostly Japanese.

IM8000 was almost the last generation of the old Genesis days. Now Genesis belongs to Singapore company.

Hi guys......thanks for the comment and the link. I will go through it learn more about the speakers. The only recollection I have of these speakers is the advertisement in Hi-Fi Review back in early 90s

Yes. I think I am lucky to get the speakers as they sound really good; it has quite a bit of bass for its size as well. The seller kept telling me how lucky I am to get such a good deal (speakers + stands). For the price I paid, it is indeed a good deal but the speakers have a lot of scratches on top. I am still researching on how to repair piano black. It seems like a lot of work. I am not sure if I have the know how to do it. I guess I just enjoy the music and forget about its appearance.

It was established by Arnie Nudell, the guy who designed the IRS series of Infinity. In the era of your speakers, Genesis speakers all feature a very nice circular ribbon tweeter and cylindrical cabinets that avoid standing waves.

Later on, they went on to develop bigger systems (including a couple that resembles the IRS).

I think Nudell may no longer be with them, but their current stuff are pretty good, too.

仲有嚟張．．．對 Genesis IM8200 喇叭都係三星期前尋寶買返嚟。雖然好舊單仲好好聲比我對cheap cheap Whaefedale 好聲好多。不過我對 Genesis 知到不多上網都搵吾到好多資料。有冇師兄師姐知到嚟對喇叭嘅嘢呢？
