| [#2] OPPO BDP-95 coaxial Weiss DAC2 I am using 80 with a toslink to my DAC so may be I share my opinion. With Toslink/Coaxial for blu-ray, your Weiss should indicate that these are 16/48 signal as most disc would not allow higher resolution transfer through digital outputs. Advantage a Toslink over a Coaxial is Toslink is much more quiet. If you use 95's internal DAC to process the sound from blu-ray, and if the source is 24/96 signal, then there is no loss in data transfer as the disc would output its full data to the DAC. Then, the remaining question is, is your Weiss, or a DAC's power circuits better than Oppo 95 to compensate the data loss so that Weiss/DAC soound better ??? Your ear should be able to tell you. 30% improvement ??? |

Nevertheless, assuming that the Oppo is well run-in, XLR connection, the difference should be quite small. But why waste time on a 16/44 source ?
