| [#21] Firewire for Weiss DAC2 I found a FireWire cable made by Bafo seems not bad. With gold plated terminals and braid shelding. They have different length and I bought a 2m one but yet to try. I bought it in causeway bay. |

But I have been told below from the computer audiophile forum: "Some people have commented that a small but noticeable improvement in quality can be achieved if you use a 9pin (FW800) to 4pin adaptor, then a 4pin to 6pin cable. This stops the computer's power being transmitted to the DAC2. Or if you can get one, a specially made 9pin to 6pin cable without power conductors." Which makes sense because unnecessary power in the circuit may affect the sound. I have not been able to find a 4-8pin adapter and a long 4pin to 6 pin cable though. |

| [#37] Firewire for Weiss DAC2 DAC2 doesn't need draw power from firewire port. It works as a connection only, non-real time, very fast firewire connection. I do have some samples of Firewire cables from few authority in the market. I will bring it up and test for demo during the Digital Audio Seminar next Sat/Sun. But I agree that quality cable works better, especially most of the Weiss DAC2 are related to the wrong cheap broken firewire cable. |

| [#38] Firewire for Weiss DAC2 I tried some branded product and some general computer use/industrial type. Currently the sound make no difference on my 'cheap cheap' system. But one industrial type with length 2 metres cannot able to 'lock' by Weiss. I proved the cable is operational on other 1394 periperhal. ^__~ |
